Strictly 2025

I know it's no surprise that he was shit

But is it at all possible that Skinner is DELIBERATELY moving with the gait of a 82 year old man, because his whole thing of trying to turn the UK back in time to the 1950s would be undermined by his own millennial status?

Because there is no way a 30-something should be moving like that otherwise. Stefan Dennis is double his age and double his agility.

Based off solitary Week 1, I'm going with a Karen / George / Vicky / Lewis final. Ellie potentially. Amber as the shock early exit.

The US routines are ridiculously short.

He reminds me a bit of the guy who played someone quite stupid in Home & Away, then played someone else quite stupid in True Blood.

Oh Christ, I've not thought of Ryan Kwanten for years, and now I'm going to have that sex scene between him and Alexander Skarsgård in my thoughts for the rest of the day.

There was a brief training clip of Thomas and Amy salsa training and DEAR LORD we are in for a car crash. :D

I did give the George podcast a go, and whilst it's mostly banal, I did enjoy Max Belagde going on a rant about a "whats-their-name Robbie Rotten", and George immediately sighing "you mean Thomas Skinner".

It's the closest we'll come to a fellow contestant openly calling him a dickhead.

About half an hour ago I finished watching (catching up with last Saturday's episode) and I can say that the intro dance

and ending were amazing and wholesome 🤗 🪩 💃🏻
Also what was the mention of 1986 (I heard from La Voix) from Claudia, was it a joke or was she in something significant then? :ClaudiaPopcorn:

A few negatives (besides the obviously terrible contestant ) mostly to do with the judges and their overreaction to Ellie, Shirley giving the fan to her was a bit too much.
I'd say even with Vicky their handling of her condition is a bit iffy (PMDD isn't as visible/publicly recognised as Down syndrome but still impacting).

Also Balvinder (she reminds me of my auntie  ) and Julian (who I'm almost convinced is descended from Enya:-) were seriously under-marked. :o I hope whatever footwork issues there were are better in future dances, they deserved much better than 4s for the samba though.

Karen Carney's dance was awesome! 🤩🥅⚽🌟 She was more energetic than Carlos! :D
I love how humble she was 'thanks for having me' afterwards ☺️ hopefully it continues well for her.

Katya is going to have to work against her natural instincts if she is to tone Lewis down.

Jessie J? They having STAR PERFs on Saturday as well as the results show now?

Shirl warmed up for George there. I thought he was good in a natural, not too flashy way. Definitely looks like the most likely winner at this point.

Motsi as new head judge could be good 😊

Also I think best till last (of the ones I watched in full) again this week, fun charleston  ✨

I voted 😊 (usually don't until the final) 🪩
1 to Vicky and Kai, Balvinder and Julian, Karen and Carlos, and 2 to Ross and Jowita. ☺️

I think George was fine enough to warrant a high ranking, but he is still a little stiff and Alexis is carrying. I thought the facial expressions the judges were raving about to be a bit off-putting - it was too obviously taking every effort of his being not to break into a grin.

Alex topping the leaderboard as a 60-something is quite something and very welcome. Most people have her pegged as a mid-tabler, but I'd love to see her last longer.

I'm not holding my breath on Skinner departing. It's surely Ross or Chris.

I'm increasingly thinking Lewis is fooked unless he pulls out some showstoppers. For someone who seems to have been tagged as "the one to beat", the gap between him and the others isn't actually that big, and he won't win on personality votes. He'll probably need to take his top off onscreen.

I've avoided the spoilers, watching now, several good ones through so far 😊 and different tense music 😅🎵
