With ‘Ray Of Light’ looking like it won the #2s edition I’ve moved on to the remaining Top 5 hits. Another abundance of choice so I’ll allow up to FOUR selections given there are so many. Her track record really was something else.

Sweating and vomiting at having to omit Open Your Heart and Dress You Up.

But I am a 90s-00s girl, so I couldn't not choose Erotica, Secret, Don't Tell Me. As well as the incredible Cherish.

Express Yourself really feels like it was bigger than #5, can’t remember what was ahead of it at the time.

Like A Virgin on just ONE vote?!

Got to be LAV, Dress You Up, Die Another Day and Celebration (which I could've sworn was a #2?!) :disco:

Celebration is great, as long as you forget her entire back catalogue and just judge it as a throwaway pop track from 2009

Express Yourself is obviously an incredible antecedent to something even more iconic and prolapse-inducing.

Dress You Up
Angel
Open Your Heart
TUTBMP

About 10 others would easily rival the fourth spot though. Dear Jesse, DCFMA and Celebration are the three that don’t do much if anything for me.

I was tempted to give You’ll See my 4th vote as a proxy vote for my mum as it and Like A Prayer are her favourite Madonna songs.

Dress You Up - I think I love it because it's her best 80s song I discovered years after TIC, while I was buying all her back catalogue.

Secret/ Bedtime Story/ You'll See - Mid 90s was by far the most interesting period of her career for me (14-17 coming of age gay). RnB, electronica and gorgeous ballads. She's one who HAD IT ALL.

I was chargined to miss Die Another Day, but the rules are cruel.

It's wild that Open Your Heart was only a #4. Must have been the same week as Band Aid, Band Aid II and Candle In The Wind 97.

Not me being told off by the poll because I chose about ten songs :D

Four is REALLY difficult!

Looking it up and it peaked at Christmas. Behind Reet Petite, Caravan of Love and The Final Countdown.
That's such a 1987 top 3. A reissue, a cover version and a piece of cheese.

(I adore The Housemartins' take of "Caravan Of Love" mind you).

Ended up going for

Open Your Heart
This Used To Be My Playground
Secret
Don’t Tell Me

Just missing out:

Rescue Me
Dress You Up
Express Yourself

Material Girl
Express Yourself
You'll See
Open Your Heart

I didn't realise You'll See made it as high as #5

It's obviously ridiculous not giving Secret or Bedtime Story a vote.

But honestly COME JOIN THE PAHDEE. YEH never fails to set off the giggles. It's like she'd been inspired by the Cheeky Girls.
HAVANA
Since you Some way before?
You look familiar
I guess I just don’t recognise you with your clothes on!!!!!!!!

I'm astonished at Open Your Heart being the big runaway winner. I've always thought it's "good" rather than top tier Madonna and, though I accept it's a stone cold classic, I am amazed it's so many people's winner here.

I'm also very sad that I was toying with chucking the marvellous Gambler a bone, but decided against it and now its languishing on zero.

Though WHO THE FUCK thought Argentina was a good choi...OH!

Yes, I'm upset for poor Gambler as well, yet at the same time it wasn't realistically near contention for my vote either.

I'd be interested to see how the vote would go if we were voting for our least favourite four.

I expected Erotica to be scoring better too but interesting that the songs are scoring across the board apart from poor unwanted Gambler, it’s a testament to the quality of her catalogue.

ACTUALLY, why not:

1. Erotica
