Yeah, she's pretty much confirming YP as an unserious protest party with stuff like this.

Also worth remembering that the Green Party has a pro-NATO stance because their membership voted for one. So she might be in for some disappointment if her own members ever actually get to the point of voting on foreign policy.
 
Anyway, yeah. Expect this lot to get buried beneath the Greens in the council elections next year, bar *maybe* Islington as it's Corbyn's back yard (and some of the places where the Gaza independents have strength, like Tower Hamlets, Birmingham, Dewsbury and Blackburn). The Greens have the councillors and the members...it'll be Change UK and the Lib Dems all over again.
 
I can't escape the feeling that she is really really dim. was she just chosen to front this because she's a young woman?
 
I have been of the view since the moment that this will amount to absolutely fuck all, and that one of them will kill the other one.
 
NATO withdrawal is very much aligned to Jeremy's views so that's one thing they may agree on. It appeals to a certain segment of the left that includes Z&J who believe diplomacy is always the answer. A noble idea but naive at best. It completely falls apart when you're dealing with figures like Putin who see diplomacy and compromise as weakness.
 
It's one thing to try and shift the Overton Window back a few paces but we need an electable party and this isn't going to be it, is it?

Cycling out your leader after 21 months when you've just been founded seems like it'd be bad for public recognition.
 
Is their any indication that their leaders will be term limited?

The Greens also re-elect their leadership team every 12 months, but I doubt Polanski will face any major threats for as long as things continue to go well.

With YP I can definitely see it devolving into an interminable power struggle between the Corbyn and Sultana factions. It'll be interesting to see which of them still holds the most support within their membership.

She's out of her depth in a way that Corbyn isn't. She was great as a thorn in Starmer's side, a constant reminder from the left of who the Labour Party is meant to be for. But the practicalities of a project like this, coupled with some over-ambition have left her adrift.
 
Conscious of not falling for clickbait, I watched the full interview. She really did have nothing to say about the real-world implications of abandoning Ukraine to Russia, and seemed pretty keen not to discuss it. She has a few good points on other topics, but so much of it really does just feel poorly thought through.

I think starting out by making noise as a backseat critic and then carving a brand for yourself by being a rebel and a counterpoint doesn’t work on the left as much as it does on the right. Calling out government mistakes is easy but developing real alternatives is not; the left will see through it in a way that the right doesn’t, or doesn't want to, or doesn’t care.
 
This is such an archetype of why the left keep failing. We're in People's Front Of Judea territory.
 
I'm not reading that, but for a party that barely exist to be having "a statement from...", reinforces what I already suspect. The old left lack the pragmatism and foresight to run themselves.
 
We've already identified that Zarah isn't a very good politician, but this is a reminder that neither is Jeremy Corbyn.
 
But Corbyn is better in this, off to the side. We need to all back the Greens and not tell him.
 
Shame on the wicked left for not making socially conservative landlords feel welcome. So much for a BROAD CHURCH :(
