One of my colleagues just used the word "flabbergasted" and I am so glad my camera was off so they didn't see me do this:

I think the teacher is right probably. It's defining information and the sentence wouldn't really work without it unless there was previous context.

The two choices are odd though and I don't love that grammar teaching on this scale is normal. Is it for Kylie and is she Year 5/6?

"best describes best" and "just give extra information" are both terribly written English sentences, so no, send it back with red pen.

I'd also say the sentence does both things. Does she know the girl who has lost her glasses AS OPPOSED to other girls? Or does she know WHICH is the the girl who has lost her glasses? Either could be true because we don't have the context, but I'd argue that the latter is probably more likely to be used in normal speech.

He's year 4, but they've given him a year 5 paper which is where this is from!

Now that I see the full question, I see the difference in how I’d say it (the comma). But the way the question is presented and the answers are weird
 
It should be: Tamara knows the girl WHO has lost her glasses.

If the relative pronoun used is that, then the answer is that it specifies the girl that Tamara knows

If the relative pronoun used had been who, then the answer would have been the second one x

Honestly the amount of times I have to use chat gpt to help with English homework is ridiculous. Maths, science I can do. But I can't get my head around this type of thing :(

1 hour Teams call each Saturday 9am during term time work for you? Homework is set on Friday and due in by the Weds so we try and get it done first thing Sat morning xx
