Oh Father, Take a Bow, Masterpiece, Medellin. Was going to go for Lucky Star cause it felt like the obvious choice between the later singles but I don’t think I voluntarily ever play it.

I like One More Chance too but it was probably her cheapest sounding single at that point. It would have been a nice bside rather than single.

A shame Ghosttown only reached #117 (thanks streaming) as I’d have fired it a vote but there had to be some sort of numerical standards in place.

Was it streaming that sunk her chart power on the singles chart or lack of physical sales? She seemed to start to really struggle with MDNA before streaming was really a thing but when physical sales were dead.

Yeah that would’ve started it. Downloads still obviously helped acts with fanbases, but by removing multiple formats and making competition so cheap and accessible, it meant it required actually crossing over a lot more to compete rather than relying on a dedicated base. This therefore impacted her before streaming made it even worse. Plus her age of course wouldn’t have helped.

I'm Addicted should have led the mdna campaign followed by girl gone wild. If in need of a third single I suppose bonus track beautiful killer was right there. Give me all your lovin pretty much ended her chart career as a contemporary pop star

Its a conversation had many a time but I think Love Spent with a blockbuster video should have been the lead

Lucky Star is my favourite Madonna song (Power of Goodbye is close second)

I find it astonishing anyone finds it summery. It's as cold and wintery as anything she's done for me. It's a warm fireplace type of song- and the release schedule for both the album and single supports that in my head.
