Madison Beer - Yes Baby

reminded me of what a banger Make You Mine is too. but I think Yes Baby is the best song I've heard from her at least since Home to Another One. makes me wanna go out and be bad

I loved 'You Showed Me' from the last album; it was a low-key, sultry gem that stood out from most tracks, but yeah, the album was largely a snooze.

A similar scenario with Tate: the latest album was everything that worked from the one before, just a bit amped up. Girls, if you're going to do ballads and slow numbers, they better be engaging.
 
Bittersweet made the UK Spotify chart today, down at #199.

That’s pretty good for her I’d think - Make You Mine actually had a solid little run without ever fully taking off, but I’m somewhat surprised this has done it.
 
bittersweet is 100% ariana cosplay (specifically eternal sunshine era) but actually very good. she sounds gorgeous.
 


you're still everything and complexity are my initial standouts. It does feel like it is begging to be filled out with a deluxe containing a couple of boppier numbers.
 
so, everything she said in that interview from months ago turned out to be true; the singles were not representative of the album. GIRL BYE!
She keeps peddling this 2018-Ariana cosplay tracks, which she clearly loves. I wonder why she's scared of following the line of what she has released so far; she even had the nerve to delete 15 MINUTES!

I haven’t bothered, is it all downbeat type stuff? To be fair to her, Bittersweet has been rather huge for her (already over 100m streams and happily top 200 on daily Spotify) so I get staying in that lane but it’s not what I want from her really.
 
I quite enjoyed it to be honest, nothing outstanding but it was quite good
 
I think so!! looks like good numbers for a B/C list girlie. it's always hard to gauge how big an artist like her actually is.
 
Yeah that seems rather good for someone of her ‘stature’ commercially?

Just gave it a spin. Other than the singles and Complexity, the best song on it is the intro :D
 
nothing stood out for me when I cherry picked but I'll try again this week
 
Three main takeaways for me:

1. I don’t hate the mumbly Ariana stuff that much as the more dreamy production makes it a bit better
2. Why the fuck 15 Minutes isn’t on there is plain weird. It’s only 11 tracks, and with Yes Baby at track two and Make You Mine at track ten, having the final part of the trilogy around track 7 would be very, very welcome given the tempo of the rest
3. The opening track they could’ve easily added a minute on to and made a proper song
 
Also, in the meantime, she released this GEM, which was part of the F1 soundtrack



Which does scream bonus track, but much better than some of the stuff that did make it onto the album :eyes:. It was only a matter of time until fan-made playlists of a "comprehensive" album were created on Spotify, and that's what I'm using. Justice for 15 MINUTEs.
