I just don’t see how he survives past the local elections, they know they need to replace him before the next election if they want to avoid a catastrophic result, and the longer he stays the more irreparable damage he does to the parties reputation. Of course I suspect he’ll cling on bitterly as he seems to be the single person in the UK who believes he’s doing a good job!
 
Where is the pollng on Labour Party members? It felt like we always had a full ranking of who conservative members liked and dislikes within the party.
 
Poor Bridget Philipson being the fourth most popular Labour cabinet member with Labour voters and still losing the deputy leader contest somehow.
 
Bridget the bob on +74 is plenty of evidence that that poll should be immediately disregarded

I assume BIG ANG would be the most popular backbencher, which would also be the correct answer.

Wes has stood on too many toes (and necks) on his way up to get the support of his colleagues. Ed lost a general election because he couldn't eat a bacon sandwich properly which means that Labour have the chance to do the funniest thing ever (but you can see the headlines - rejected by the people, arrrogant Labour install LOSER MILLIBAND as PM etc etc)

If you are below state pension age, it was unlikely to impact most working people, as the rumour was national insurance would be cut to offset the income tax rise. The main people that would suffer would be people that dont pay NI (i.e.landlords, partnership owners, high earning retirees). Personally I dont think it was a bad idea, as most people in this category can afford to pay a bit more tax, and the bond markets reacted well to it. Changing strategy this close to the budget is crazy and worrying... with cuts off the table, if they aren't raising income tax, where is the money they need coming from.
 
They're trying to be all things to all people except "all people" are the super-rich. The press have gone swivel-eyed about any possible tax rise in the last month despite the obvious necessity and now they've folded up like a road map. Pathetic.
 
isn't the budget in like ten days? how is all of this not set in stone at this point? can you actually still be TESTING THE WATERS WITH THE OBR or fucking around with the POSSIBILITY of using this lever or that just a week before announcing a budget?
 
and who the fuck is briefing this to the press? surely not her own office?
