Both are utterly incredible career highs. But Drowned World is - at times - my favourite Madonna song.

I've often wondered why "I traded fame for love without a second thought" doesn't turn up in those "greatest opening lines" polls but it's because she isn't a bloke with a guitar or a blocke standing beside a bloke with a guitar.

Nothing Really Matters for me. I absolutely adore Drowned World but it never quite worked as a single for me - it was perfect as the opening track on RoL and sounded so different to anything she had done up to that point.
