Rather LATER than usual this year for the annual depressing reel of 'who's about?' to be beginning, but Scott Mills trailed on Radio 2 this morning that Sam Ryder has a "very big announcement" coming on Friday's show...

Has the well run completely dry that we have to bring back Sam Ryder? Lovely bloke but I don't think we'd live it down with Spaceman pt II and ended up in 24th place.

I'm fully expecting Craig David to do it at some point.
 
I can’t think of anyone remotely successful who would want to touch it with a barge pole considering the current circumstances. Not even RINA SAYAYAMA. Maybe @VoR needs to finally let Michael Rice out of his basement.
 
Sam should steer clear of Eurovision altogether. It would be an inevitable diminished return, and everyone is better off with Sam keeping an untainted pseudo-winner legacy.

Perru I think would be a mid-table pick and only IF someone else does all of the writing, because her own material has been deeply uninteresting.

I think it had been suggested somewhere before, but if we want to pick a vaguely-sensible British name, we could do worse than Yungblud even if it's not Moopy-centric.
 
I feel like Sam's at a point in his career where the prospect of another big hit might be looking quite tempting, and I can see the BBC being happy with any kind of name even if it does smack of going back to the well a bit soon. Has he said much of anything about Gaza?

I think now he's put his second album out, 2027 or 2028 might make more sense as the moment where he pulls the trigger, but I do fully expect it to happen at some point.
 
He's given interviews recently where he's referred to the period after Eurovision as being pretty difficult (seemingly in relation to label expectations) and how Eurovision was only a chapter and he's writing a new book or somesuch.

It doesn't strike me that he'd want to do it again. At least yet.

Oh he’s very vocally Christian, not in the fire and brimstone way though, it’s just a big factor in his whole relentlessly positive vibe.
 
Is Sam Ryder not a big GAY? Not that you can't be Gay and Christian THESE DAYS. My Gaydar has always been terrible.

I've seen two or three productions of Jesus Christ Superstar over the years, and although I can't deny some of the songs, I don't enjoy the musical that much. It's all a bit grandiose and pompous. I much prefer Joseph if I want a ALW religious musical, as anodyne as it can be.
 
Will this follow other recent ALW revivals and end in him HALF-NAKED and painted like DL trade after a night at the bins Hackney.
