Chris Brown has done a pretty good job growing musically with his audience. Don't know how big he was/is in UK and Europe but he was ENORMOUS in Australia and NZ and certainly in USA still. So I think people will make moral exceptions where they see fit. I know one friend stan of mine says something like "What he did was wrong but he was young and stupid". Honestly, I think a lot of it is just good strategy. He has a nice voice and he uses it to his advantage to charm audiences with his whole 'bad boy with a heart of gold' gimmick.

His latest single is quite good, and I've hated almost all of his stuff (use Twitter link if you prefer not to support its streaming).


 
He was young and stupid and has learned his lesson would be more convincing as a defence if he hadn’t just been up in court pleading not guilty to twatting a guy with a tequila bottle in a nightclub.
 
We have someone in the office who is going to the Glasgow show - we cracked some jokes and a major huff was taken. Look, if you know, why the fuck are you going to the gig??

Oh it's a flimsy af justification (to me anyway), if you can even call it that, but it's enough for some people. Also, I know many hate being reminded of this but violence and the objectification of women make an artist MORE attractive to many listeners. And I'm not talking about young kids who are just following the crowd (another problem nobody wants to talk about), I'm talking about full-grown adults.
 
I saw people on my insta stories at his gig last night - it looked like WEMBLEY STADIUM?! Had no idea he was that big in the UK for that type of show.

It was Tottenham stadium which holds about 30,000 less than Wembley, but still a good 3 times bigger than any concert arena. Ridiculous.

I have a little beef with this. Where were they when Morrissey did two sold out shows in Glasgow 4 weeks ago? Did they confront his audience of middle aged blokes? I get that Brown's show was massively bigger but it does feel as if young women are put under greater scrutiny that men. Ian Brown's been convicted of violent assault twice, anyone outside filming folk when The Stone Roses played Hampden? Didn't think so.
 
If there ever were any celebrities I was looking to for INTELLECT and POLITICAL WISDOM, it was never Rylan from the X Factor.

We sometimes assume that our entertainers are liberal and not evil based on NO EVIDENCE whatsoever, and are then caught by surprise that our ADDITIONAL RATE TAXPAYERS are in fact conservative and selfish.
 
I know no-one else gives a shit but I am QUITE UPSET that Thomas Skinner from the Apprentice (and soon Strictly) has turned out to be a cunty Reform twat :(
