The Gilded Age (New Julian Fellows HBO Drama) (1 Viewer)

I remember the butlers because people say their names fifteen times in every scene they're in. The society women are The Aunts, new money Mrs Russell, the slaggy one nobody likes, dead husband one, and some others who turn up a lot but I don't remember.
TRAIN DADDY
CLOCK TWINK
THE WASP

The only three names you need

Who's The Wasp?

UPDATE: Mrs Russell has knocked Nathan Lane bandy but the child footman is making a right bollocks of the Aunts' luncheon.

Another convert :disco:
It’s absolutely brilliant. The way they can wring an episode’s drama from a butler being discovered moonlighting at another house, yet that same episode starts with the aftermath of a violent train crash and it’s paid barely any mind after the first five minutes :disco:

Five men dead in a train disaster is clearly a narrative dead end but a SPOON on the table at LUNCHEON? That’s a three-episode story arc.

PROPER DRAMA!

Enjoy the FRIVOLITY whilst it lasts, things do take QUITE THE TURN in the third season!

Considering most of the series was spent visiting dressmakers, it seems odd that Mrs R would elect to wear a harem unitrouser and as much wallpaper as she could shoplift from B&Q to witness the culmination of her life's work.

A couple of interesting looking things in there - Sharon Horgan yay! Why on Earth they are still bothering with the tepid snooze-a-phon that is Gilded Age fuck knows.

I endured it because I love her so much. He’s so awful though, even trying to interrupt her when she’s talking about the saddest moment in her life.
