Mad Friday is really just disappointed

I still need a thing or two, which is rare for me at this stage but that's what happens when you're lurgeed up for a month in the run-up, I suppose.

I wonder if it is going to be THAT busy - it didn't seem to be that busy last weekend.

I think Black Friday and online shopping has finished the days of everywhere being completely packed out. Not to mention austerity, stagnant wages with soaring rent, energy bills etc. People have less to spend.

Meant to be leaving for Christmas today but our ceiling has sprung a leak thanks the torrential rain yesterday :MeredithMarks:

I am in a GREAT mood. Can’t even be mad at Friday

Load of noise outside the office, several lorry cabs drove past bibbing their horns and flashing their lights so I stood at the office window singing "Come on and join our convoy", then the last one in the convoy went past with a coffin on the back where the trailer would have been hooked up. :(
I mean if you’re the sort of person who want their final journey to be like that, I’d say they’d appreciate the serenade

Is it called mad Friday because of the shopping? I thought it was the drunks in the pub

Yeah it was always because the pubs were rammed round my way growing up.

Also affectionately known as black eye friday

I used to be called Black Friday up here but maybe I knew too many people who worked in pubs and restaurants...it was Daft Friday when I was a student but it would be, wouldn't it?

It's FESTIVE BIANNUAL WATER BILL DAY which is always a WELL-TIMED JOY

Today's BONE OF CONTENTION is that I should HURRY ALONG and take this REPEAT PRESCRIPTION to the DOCTOR'S SURGERY. You've GOT A PHONE APPOINTMENT WITH THE DOCTOR THIS AFTERNOON YOU CAN ASK FOR IT THEN :eyes:

"BUT THEY WON'T TAKE REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS OVER THE PHONE!"
