XMAS + Christmas (Fully Wrapped Edition) - XMAS #1!

Oh sorry, I missed the Christmas bit

I only recognise Xmas now

Her biggest sales week since LAFS

Well, if you accept the comparison, I suppose

She played the game and won so I’m delighted to see the joy this has brought her. She deserves it all. It’ll be interesting to see if this becomes a Christmas staple having made number one but whatever…

Wasn’t expecting to have another #1 single to add to the singles polls I’m planning at doing some point.

AMAZING! Who'd have thought she would have another number one in her at this stage.

I suppose as far as Joe Public is concerned, the fact that it's all a MASSIVE SCAM will go over 99% of their heads, so the headline that Kylie Minogue has the Christmas #1 in 2025 can only be a good thing for her really.

I do find it quite heartwarming that the gays clearly mobilised this week to make sure it happened. Feels like retribution for four years of LADBABY.

I do have one snide comment and it’s whomever is keeping up with her hair needs to be fired. All these interviews this week have been nothing by flyaway scarecrow hair. HOT OIL TREATMENT HUN

I don't know where they put Gwen Stefani on the playlists, but she fell 20 places to 60. I feel like this was at least as much Kylie as it was Amazon. She certainly seemed to have goodwill on her side and a strong fanbase ready to come out and make gay dreams come true.

I'd like to believe it, but will need some convincing. Two thirds of its sales were from streams, and although they will have been boosted by fan campaigns, I struggle to think Amazon wasn't responsible for a lot more than searched streams.

Still, there is undoubtedly a lot of goodwill as you say, and if anyone is going to benefit from playing the game, I'm glad it's her.

Impossible to say whether it made the difference in the end, but I do think it was initially standard Amazon riggery, and then once the Kylie fans got a sniff of what was possible, there was a palpable mobilisation to make sure she got over the line.

The fact that the album re-issue went to #1 surely shows she has at least 8-10k fans in the UK dedicated enough to buy any old shit she puts out. :D

There's no way I'd have bought those three downloads until the first look chart and subsequent updates showed she could take it.

Could we get this added to the banner please @Administrator ?

Honestly I’m made up. Yes, there’s the whole Amazon exclusive part that obviously is a bit DODGE, but fuck it. Padam genuinely made the top ten on its own, so she clearly can be relevant outside of us old lot. If anyone is going to play the game like Ellie, Sam, Tom etc all have then why not her.

Kylie having a #1 single (solo) in 2025 is fabulous, a week after the album. Get it Queen.

Also didn't Sam Ryder have the Amazon exclusive last year? It WASN'T ENOUGH!
2023.

And then when it was UNSHACKLED from being an Amazon exclusive, soared to #56 last year, and not seen this year.

Tom Grennan had it last year, got to #3, and hasn't charted this year.

I can't really see her recharting again, although Cher has recharted both years.

It'll be heavily playlist dependent. Although you'd imagine Spotify won't be inclined to prioritise it, and presumably Amazon will have moved onto a new act.

Plus of course assuming Kylie doesn't decide to release it again on multiple formats.

I can’t imagine Spotify will open it with open arms having been an Amazon exclusive, but being a Christmas number one and Apple Music leaning towards an older demographic in the UK it may give her a bit more of a chance of being more visible in the next few years.
