What utter woke nonsense are we all up to tonight to celebrate the passing of time?

Ms Ron was up puking all night for reasons unknown as shes still asleep. Our plans are simply heading over to spend the night with a bunch of friends and they only live around the corner.

I was going to get myself the Sainsbury’s Indian Meal deal for TWO (for one) tonight but they’ve screened off the whole section!

So I will be ordering in a curry or kebab then watching housewives until I pass out.

I hope this weather warning for snow is correct and we get a nice whiteout over the weekend. I have fuck all to do so would happily spend it frolicking in and looking at snow

Might make an onion tarte tatin to go with this massive cheese haul we still have

I often say that I don't care about new year when the truth is I care very little. This year, I can say with absolute honesty that I do not care at all. I might use the excuse to have something lightly indulgent for my dinner but apart from that and a new David Bowie calendar, I couldn't give a flying one at a rolling doughnut.

Had 2 hours sleep last night so may not even make it to midnight. Working today and hoping we can leave a bit early, but being boring and staying home with a nice Indian takeaway.

Absolutely fuck all on telly tonight too.

Happy New Year's Eve 😊 I opened a new mattress, probably tidying up and refreshing a bit in time for the evening (hopefully my hair will get its curls back like a week ago, ideally less frizzy haha).
For New Year I've only ever stayed at home, eating canapés and watching the London fireworks on telly (my parents actually went for the New Millennium/2000 for free).
The NYE/day show doesn't interest me most of the time. 😅 I'd rather watch the Vienna concert on New Year's Day. 🎼💐

Reason confirmed: the fuck load of booze we drank last night

Woke up with bunged-up nose and chest at 6am, couldn't breathe properly, flailed around in the dark for my inhaler but it was nowhere to be found, turned the light on and still couldn't find it, panic started setting in so I hurtled downstairs to get the one I knew I'd left in the car yesterday to discover the car was frozen and I couldn't open either of the doors. Got the boot open and climbed in over the back seat, toked on the inhaler then had to sit with the engine on to defrost it enough to get the door open.

By which time I was wide awake.

Staying in here too, but that’s not a surprise. Was supposed to be off to Glitterbox tomorrow but that’s a step too far right now.

We’re going to the cinema this afternoon just to get out of the house and then Mr Sheena has cooked lamb shanks in a fancy sauce, I’ve put a bottle of fancy champagne in the fridge from our wonderful trip to the Champagne region in April and we’re going to drink to the end of a fucking dreadful year, play a couple of old Now That’s What I Call Music LPs and try and guess the songs (he gets a 10 second head start, natch) and be in bed by 10 with a couple of Tramadol and some Melatonin gummies. :disco:

That actually sounds ideal.

Very aggressive messaging from my local taxi company.

I think we've accidentally bought the smallest bedside tables in history.

ARE THEY FOR BABIES?

I will indeed be inviting New Year Steve to sit on my face as Big Ben rings in 2026.

Should have followed with IS IT OK TO BE CHRISTIAN

This is giving me flashbacks to debating club at school where one week's topic was literally IS IT OKAY TO BE GAY and someone argued it's Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

School was such a WELCOMING PLACE
I can't decide if being older and school not being allowed to acknowledge it is better or worse.

Or if it was acknowledged it would likely only be that you'd DIE from it.

I had a convo like this once. I reminded the person that Cain and Abel somehow had offspring and his brain broke.

I am also having a pretty quiet one. Heading out for a meal with the kids, then will come back home for a few drinks and some snacks.

We're staying in as well, my partner has a chest infection and back problems anyway. We're having Nigella's crab mac and cheese and some crémant.
I also need to work for an hour or two although I'm officially off until Monday, I have to fix something before anyone will notice next week.
