XMAS + Christmas (Fully Wrapped Edition) - XMAS #1!

Presumably because of Spotify not reporting but Amazon doing so as much as anything else.

loves, why does Hot in December not have its own thread and VOCALLY PASSIONATE FAN CLUB?

I've just heard it for the first time and OMG. what a gorgeous little ditty.

it's kinda hilariously how effortlessly she and biff can shit out a song this melodic and catchy.

The video is available on Spotify if you're a premium member. Simple but quite effective.

Muller has done good for Chri...sorry XMAS.

Next week's chart is going to be bizarre. The whole Top 20 is Xmas songs and the streaming usually starts to drop off on Xmas Day itself. One wonders who'll storm in to #1 next week, assuming a few physical sales won't be enough to keep her in the mix...

Isn't RAYE on ACR now? So she'll have to overcome that outperforming the market by 25% rule to get a reset. I don't recall if most non Christmas songs have qualified for that or not since that rule has been in.

I'd like to see her get it then, and she must stand a good chance.

It would be a crazy chart run as well - only made even more crazy when she no doubt would hit ACR again after another 3 weeks.

My first thought was Olivia Dean back to the top most probs

I hope she's only just beginning with the US side of things then.

Next year I want Girls Aloud to nab an Amazon deal for Not Tonight Santa. It could be the equivalent of being a Levi's song in the 90s.

It can't be Not Tonight Santa. It has to be an original song.

Xmas now reaches cult status like Holler which was an official bubbling under US HIT

Ellie Goulding's cover of River was an Amazon Original, wasn't it?

I'd have thought the sticking point would be that it has previously been released.

I'd quite like her to be a perennial Christmas act. Just not at the expense of everything else.

From her perspective, I can certainly see the appeal of having a few enduring Christmas tracks in the US.

I wonder if the intention is to push this in the US next year? I don't want her to turn into a perennial Christmas act.

I like to think Kylie will want to harness it to springboard other opportunities. She's still clearly creatively driven to release songs that both stand out and have impact a la Padam, which truly did seem to light a fuse under her in terms of creative/commercial ambition.l going on interviews at the time.

I suppose the driving force is that she has written this as opposed to Santa Baby which remains her second biggest song of all time (in terms of streams and indeed sales I guess, isn't it a million seller here?).

While she doesn’t have Mariah style chart success at Christmas, I do hear a lot of her songs played in stores and restaurants during the holiday season over here. I imagine they don’t count as anything toward any chart but I did hear a Kyle Christmas song nearly every time I’ve been out the last 2 months

I'd have thought the sticking point would be that it has previously been released.
Also that it's GIRLS ALOUD in 2026. An inactive act, only cherished by aging homos and huns, with a dead member

I say this as a slight to the general public and music industry, not them :disco:
