Just wanted to say Thank Goodness You’re Here made me so so happy to play. I’ve never really done one of these “not really a game” things but it was an absolute triumph. Batshit mental and very funny!

Rog Peelings big head :(

Available for free in the PS Plus games catalogue if you have that

Like seriously what do Americans think when they come across something like this :D

Fun fact, I was paid £4.80 in royalties for this.

I downloaded this, I love it.

Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart is absolutely blowing my mind! The graphics are insane! I’m using fidelity mode but because I have a fancy pants 120hz TV with VRR it almost feels like it’s running at 60fps at the same time as showing me a depth of field I’ve never quite seen like that before. Sublime.

Is XBOX really this much down the toilet? I watched their Direct that aired yesterday and they showed 4 games that are all coming to PlayStation too. Well, there was a surprise GameFreak game, but there's no way that's exclusive and I would be "agog" if that skipped Nintendo. They acquired all these studios this generation, which I had anticipated would come into fruition next generation. Is it naive to think that they're doing multi-platform games this generation to then have them be exclusives next generation? Microsoft has the most money out of all the 3 companies so I'm most perplexed.

I think Microsoft have realised they’re never going to “win” against PlayStation so are just focussing on the games and streaming now. Especially either lock-ins like Game Pass or PlayStation Plus.

When i read that Indiana Jones and Forza were going to be on PS5 it was no brainer for me to then get a PS5.

Well the next Fable is coming out soon so that should be special for Microsoft. And isn't there a new Halo title coming soon?

Disco Elysium. Visually stunning. Like a novel in game form. Have had to completely change my mindset of wanting to complete "all" conversation options because that's just not how it works. Not even finished yet and already looking forward to my second run through as I'm led to believe completely different things can happen every time.

Took a bit of getting used to. Dying when you're five minutes in trying to retrieve your tie from the ceiling fan is NOT IT but when you're au fait with the world it somehow makes complete sense also :D

I had massive fun playing Split Fiction yesterday. Absolute hoot.

🌭

They’re fucked. Unless the nextbox offers something truly transformational in a non-software arena, there is simply no reason to own the machine. And this is without the RAM prices fucking things to high heaven.

Witcher 3 is currently on heavy discount on Nintendo Online so I think I’m going to give it a go - I’ve been told it’s the closest thing the Switch has got to Skyrim or Zelda.

If anyone has played it let me know!

I just couldn't click with the gameplay at all. It is really clunky and unfun, so I couldn't stick with it long enough to experience the supposedly amazing story.

Switch should have a version of Skyrim though? I have it on xbox but I am sure I remember seeing it for switch.

Do you think they got all these studios knowing they were on the way out hardware-wise? I was naively thinking they were gearing up for a more competitive next gen.

Witcher 3 is amazing. It's one of the brightest stars of the PS4 generation. The story is adapted very well from its source material and makes the Skyrim story look like a pop-up book. But its controls have always been a bit clumsy/laggy so it might take you a while.

Witcher 4 is coming out soon, which looks insane. Meanwhile, Elder Scrolls 6 development is crawling.

Yeah I have it for Switch - that’s what I meant, I’ve rinsed Skyrim and now need another game that’s similar because I love the vast open world and lore. Bear in mind I’ve never owned a PS or Xbox so my benchmark for advanced open world and RPG is low compared to other gamers, and I know Skyrim is quite old now, but it’s probably the best game I’ve ever played.

A bit bummed about people saying the controls are clumsy / clunky. I found this to be the case with Zelda tbh, and why I never explored that as much as Skyrim, even though i think it’s beautiful and creative.

Skyrim was so intuitive - considering the depth of the upskilling with all the magic and spells which would normally put a novice like me off, I was completely invested.

I loved Skyrim, but the ES games generally have shit stories and they only really shine when you have access to mods, which is very limited on consoles.

The Elder Scrolls Oblivion remaster is on/coming to the Switch 2. It is a bit of its time but if you enjoyed Skyrim I think it would be worth giving a shot if you have a switch 2 already.

Me too. But both Halo and Bethesda games failing to land probably wasn’t in their crystal ball. I think they were expecting to have critical system sellers to claw back on Sony. I think they could have steamrollered everything eventually but not with everything going cross platform.

My issue with Bethesda games is that the best part is the spectacle of the world and just exploring, except the game insists on pushing you into caves and then forcing you to head back to town to empty your pockets. It’s got worse since F4 started making resource gathering a thing.

I don’t but it’ll be the first thing on my list when I do get one.
