To think how differently this last episode would have been had the box of destiny or whatever they called it gone the other way.
 
Rachel has deserved the win from the first episode, what an INCREDIBLE player. At least three faithful have presented slides of her standing over a corpse with a bloodied knife and wearing a 'Traitors do it up the turret' novelty apron and she fully bodied each one of them on her way to the final. Fair play to Stephen for not making himself the most hated man in Britain, it was actually the most wholesome ending possible.

And the fact that terminal DULLARD Jack was their patsy was glorious.

I gather James is being his usual cuntish self on Uncloaked? What an EVIL, EVIL man.

It didn't help that an actual detective had her in the crosshairs. None of them were to know she was the shittest detective in the history of British policing, so it hung over her throughout the series.
 
I'm starting to think they actually weren't all related to each other and the whole family tree theory was just a bit of titillation to keep us from spiralling into depression between episodes.
 
Considering the result looked quite nailed on after Jade left I thought that was a tremendous final playing into the whole “is Stephen going to fuck her over at the last hurdle?” and displays that when it comes to this show there’s multiple ways to skin a cat.

I had to watch this morning but avoided spoilers and fuck me, what a brilliant ending, can’t believe how I was rooting for them at the end- thoroughly deserved, especially when you consider the alternative who had done very little until the very end.
 
Also, this programme- it somehow manages to keep getting better by being entirely different each time. And that feels cast- led rather than over- production (though I accept that IS a production decision in itself).
 
The production is top tier. I've never heard cast members complain about the edit though. It's on the spot production choices too. Little things, like the order of the names of the chalkboards.

I saw the Guardian winge about this series being the worst saying it's lost it's soul. Eurgh.

And (probably more predictably) The Telegraph

I remember thinking after series 2 that it may well have peaked in terms of viewers, but then last year proved that wrong, and now this year exceeded that again. It's bound to plateau and drop at some point, so you can just imagine how gleeful the response will be from some quarters when that inevitably happens.
 
I can't remember if it was the Guardian or Telegraph article which referred to how full of aggression, rows and shouting it had become now.

Did they even watch series one?
 
In a moment of weakness I clicked on Express bait, who claimed the brilliant final showed why the BBC is over and then it just went into an astonishing rant about how woke the BBC is.
 
Series four kicked series three and Celeb Traitors into an open grave for me. As much as I enjoyed last year's runs, it was starting to feel a bit tired (particularly Celeb traitors, until the amazing final). S4 reversed that for me - a mix of sensational casting, and format tweaks that felt right.

Last night's final scenes, and seeing s3's Leanne doing the rounds in the press, really highlighted how below par s3's final and winners were in particular. Although of course that was mostly down to the luck of the game.
 
I've enjoyed every series for different reasons. Sometimes (mainly S3) the winners leave a bit of a bitter taste, but there's still so much to enjoy.
 
The outcome I need at some point is a truly satisfying Faithful win.
 
That was incredible from the Traitors - how they managed to do that is beyond me. Rachel in particular surviving that final episode felt impossible a day ago.

Jack and Faraaz not voting the same on the final 4 is unspeakably stupid though - this was easily the worst set of Faithfuls ever.
 
They were up against the best ever player of the game. She played everyone except Stephen from beginning to end. She knew her gameplay, adapted and held firm. Technically beatable but between her FBI skills and ability to hold her nerve, the strongest contestant ever. Harry never came under suspicion the way Rachel did.

Leaving Jack until the end was brilliant, talk about flaky bless him.

I would have liked to have seen him humiliated by reveal at the firepit, rather than banished, though.

I had to keep avoiding the threads because I only watched the final live.
 
There's a lot of hate directed towards Rachel I'm seeing on social media today. Obviously from older men, but also older women. Internalised misogyny does run deep.

And by older I'd say probably Gen X and older Millennials.

I think Stephen was also a very quiet threat, while Rachel was a master of misdirection he was great at earning everyones trust and barely had any suspicion throughout. A perfect combo.

I think this was the first year I decided not to watch live and post on moopy, at least after the first episode or two.

Yes, I wouldn't underestimate him either - particularly when he had to face more heat early on.
