I can see why Jamie xx is supporting his 30 dates in NY. I expect we’ll get a remix
 
I assume that total could include Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube but haven’t ever seen them report daily streaming totals across all platforms. seems high and nearly impossible for the 5 hours it was available yesterday. Also, if it does include YouTube those streams don’t count anymore for the chart.
 
Maybe those streams are worldwide? If it’s just the US that would be crazy

It makes me more interested in him as an artist and more likely to look into his back catalogue.

So long as it's ok for an almost 50 year old to do that sort of thing though...

You need to stop worrying about that type of crap and just do it without guilt if you want to. All music is for everyone.
 
This is definitely growing on me. That pounding bassline is hypnotic and the uplifting chorus is an earworm.

I mean on paper I am not the target demographic but I fucking rate him as an artist.
 
Inevitable I suppose, for such a non-commercial song by a very commercial artist.
 
I wouldn’t say it was inevitable , there should still be a significant streaming interest in day 2 with the level of playlisting and airplay. I understand a sharp decline in week 2 if it wasn’t connecting but 60 percent is a bit much for day 2. We’ll see how the rest of the week plays out. I imagine they will push something new before or on the album release
 
I wonder how long it will be before we get the "it was just a buzz single, real single coming next week!!!" announcement.
 
I mean he's set for life after the last album era. A critically well-received song that lowers the expectations placed on him as operating as a Taylor Swift level commercial force who only makes sense when he's at #1, might not be the worst thing for him at this point.
 
Yeah, I think the comparisons to Disease are off given Disease didn't really do anything new, whereas this is an expansion and diversion of the brand to more experimental places. It doesn't sound like a song that should be #1 anyway, so it getting that would be a real bonus.

I don't think they are going to be worried some how!

Although do we know how his streams are compared to The Human League? That'll be pivotal.
