I'm spending the day in bed as one of the little kids I was working with yesterday & Friday has passed on a nasty cold. I feel like death, but the ASFM SHOW MUST GO ON.

I’m sat waiting at endoscopy for a camera up the HOOP, so that’s nice. The lovely Asian nurse just told me not to worry, it really is a very thin camera and that although most men worry, it doesn’t hurt. :eyes:

I've been trying to fix the leaks in my summerhouse, and as it's so rainy out today I went out there in my dressing gown this morning to see if the repairs had worked and somehow managed to lock the door with the key in the outside, so I had to wait an HOUR AND A HALF until Mr S SURFACED and LET ME OUT :D

All I heard last night were the recycle bins being blown over in the wind (why is it always stormy on BIN DAY?) and now I’m avoiding going outside until one of my binfluencer neighbours sorts it out

The idea of BOOTLE having any kind of culture is quite amusing

Bulldozing your 60s concrete shopping centre and replacing it with a modern concrete shopping centre does not mean you’re suddenly CULTURED

Even as someone born & bred in Bootle I find the idea bemusing

I mean Hull won city of culture a few years back. Anything is possible.

Also, as much as it does invite a GUFFAW, surely the purpose of these things is to attract attention and funding to towns and cities struggling to create new initiatives and develop what they do have, rather than allowing places that are thriving in that respect to attract even more cash at their expense.

I was planning on using the wind as an excuse to not go to the gym, but I used tiredness as an excuse yesterday so I should probably stop being a FAT CUNT.

I've never been to THAT BOOTLE. In fact I used to RESENT it as I lived in another place called BOOTLE

My dad used to run a hair salon in Bootle. I mentally associate it with being bored as fuck hanging around in the waiting area while watching orange scouse women getting their roots done.

Bootle just makes me think of National Girobank, who I had an account with back in the 80s and 90s. Certainly when loads of banking stuff was done by post and their headquarters was in Bootle so all the stamped addressed envelopes went there.

I think they got taken over by Alliance & Leicester, who in turn got taken over by Santander, and I've still got that account today.

At what point does a Bootle stop pretending it is still a town instead of a wholly consumed burb of Liverpool, just a step above a Toxteth? :(

Although I think my mum did work there for a time in the early 80s, now that I think about it. :D

I'm drowning in work and Mr Deb has passed on his SICKNESS to me in spite of claiming his cough was just asthma/acid reflux related. Can't wait to work late every day for the next few weeks while trying to get over this bug.

The cough bug doing the rounds again this year is DREADFUL. I had it for a week over Christmas and fortunately got over it fairly quickly (I fought for antibiotics). Lots of people have had it for WEEKS.
