To quote the random brown thing in the trailer, I've been burned before... but this actually looks fairly promising?

Looks like it's taking them fully back to their roots, as opposed to that oddly joyless 30 Rock rip-off they tried a few years ago.

Advance reviews looking good too :disco:

Is this a one off or a series? Would be good if they could have some of the still living original guest stars as well as these contemporary starlets.

That “oddly joyless 30 Rock ripoff” was fantastic actually… really very funny in places. It only didn’t work because they put it in prime time on ABC and pulled the plug when the ratings weren’t spectacular. As is the cause for any prime time show that isn’t some police or hospital procedural. Had it gone to streaming it might have done better. Certainly a better show than the Electric Mayhem show, which was also actually well received.

Anyway I’m happy to see them back. I heard it was just a special which would act as a pilot to a new series if it did well. The bar is much lower for Disney+ I imagine so I’m sure it’ll get picked up.

It's a pilot I believe with hope of making it a series if it's a success.

Quite possibly the best evolution of a character on TV. Started off as some silly phantom ghost thing in the muppet theatre and ended up as Piggy’s old-money gay assistant and stylist who can kill you with a look and destroy you with a pithy comeback :disco:

I'm not really ON BOARD with Kermit's LATEST VOICE :(
Can't they build an AI JIM HENSON?

It didn't jar for me in that trailer, so maybe I'm now used to it, but when New Voice Kermit was first doing the rounds a few years back it was awful. Bizarre they'd be so cavalier by hiring someone who sounds so different to what's gone before

I’ll have to revisit the 2015 series, which I see is on Disney+.

My abiding memory is of them writing Kermit as being really jarringly unpleasant.

I found this delightful. Such a no-brainer to just take the classic 1970s format and stick a modern star in it.

Sabrina Carpenter was a perfect guest, love that she was clearly so up for it. I was beaming from ear to ear during her Manchild number.

Hope it does well enough that they commission more.

This was so fun, and yes, Sabrina was born to be a special guest on the Muppet Show. The hair! The humour! The whole 70s 'girl singer' pastiche of it all!
