It would have been abolished either way because they’re also bringing back the wildly popular scoreboard from 2022-24.
 
I don't know what a Greczula is but Sam Ryder should be re-heating these nachos for his inevitable Eurovision return in two years.

 
Predictably, the planned extra 10 minutes and Andra Chansen reveal is a disaster. The four acts not through have to stand humiliatingly on the stage as host Gina takes their pulses and fills time. Then the act with the most votes gets through, leaving the others standing there

So, you sit through the voting get bottom points after bottom points, only to then have to stand on stage for a final rejection? Nejjjj
 
My first listen of A*Teens was a bit much on the Iconic, Iconic, Iconic, I-I-conic, but I've come right round to it and agree the production is a treat.

Greczula was a fucking horror last year but Half Of Me is a derivative joy. I do love the ludicrous BIG FINISH too. Obviously I expect his live vocal and performance may very well undo it all for me.

Jac's verses are very Ariana ten years ago, which seems a bit of a strange choice, but the chorus isn't so far away from Effortless.
 
Very much enjoyed listening to the A*Teens three times in a row on my walk to the gym this morning. Keeping the rest fresh for the GOOD MORROW :disco:
 
I’d kind of missed that they were moving the announcement of the andra chansen qualifier to the app and not even showing it on TV! What an utterly bizarre decision.

In this case, “the app” is SVT Play so if you’re watching it on there anyway as I’d imagine most international fans are then it shouldn’t be too much of a faff, but the concept still does sound dire.
 
How long are they going to drag it out in that aftershow bit though?

This relentless tinkering.
 
Yes sorry, not the voting app. But isn’t this still one of the biggest shows of the year? Why cut an element of the actual competition from the main show (in favour of another VT no doubt)?!
 
IF they brought the broadcast to a close after the two finalists were announced and then had a brand new vote among the remaining four in the aftershow for the second chance spot then I might be able to see how that would work, but apparently that’s not even what happens. They just show a pointless recap while the artists all stand around awaiting the fate that at least two of them must know is hopeless by that point anyway.
 
I don't understand, won't they already show the scoreboard to determine who the 2nd finalist is? If so the other acts already know whether they came in 3rd or not...

No, because the 3rd place will be decided by overall votes (like 1st place is), but the vote to determine 2nd place will be by age group categories which is what will be displayed on the scoreboard.

So while the artists will have a fairly good idea how they performed, the 3rd place on the scoreboard is not necessarily the 3rd place overall.

See? It’s perfectly simple!
 
So actually if they had done the voting sort of the same way as they did last year (ie. Just announce the first placer, then announce the second placer later on) then there’d at least be some suspense about who got the last slot so they could make it work that way.

There are literally so many better ways they could have done this.
 
After being removed last year, the graphic breakdown of points for all competing entries will once again be shown on screen.

SVT says the decision follows strong viewer feedback, with many fans expressing that they missed seeing the full results unfold during the broadcast.
