I wonder would she have been better keeping it. I just hope someone else doesn't get their claws into her & spend it all.
 
Her music should be worth more than what she was paid but she also didn’t write it so maybe that’s why she took what she could

I say this as though I'm qualified to comment on anyone's finances, and wouldn't burn through €70m in like 3 weeks given the opportunity
 
200m makes sense. music stocks today largely come down to streaming. the weeknd sold his catalog for $1 billion, even though he gets more than 10 billion streams per year, while britney has accumulated about 13 billion in total streams.
 
Hopefully we get some unreleased stuff out of it. I stumbled upon “Amnesia” on YouTube the other day - waiting for that to come to streaming too… what a bop!

Give or take, she might get something off Blackout, Circus, and Femme Fatale. Stream SOMEDAY (I WILL UNDERSTAND) so she can afford a luxurious life gays!
 
I'm surprised more people aren't doing this with how little streaming payouts especially if you're only credited as the performer on your biggest hits. I was also thinking in the age of AI and everyone manipulating/regurtating licensed content on Tiktok, youtube, etc who gives a shit if they use Everytime in a tampon commercial, someone's probably used it on Twitter set against a woman farting on a cake.


So on average, it would likely take between ~15 and ~25 years of streaming & royalty income to generate the equivalent of the ~$200 million she reportedly received from the sale.

quite a few have! Katy Perry and Bruno Mars both in the last year if memory serves. Bieber as well.
 
Love that she gets a coin every time Bridesmaids airs or streams for I’ve Just Begun :disco: (well, before this deal anyway)
