Scotland: The John Swinney Years

Oh no, did the Alex Salmond Cult Party flop after Alex Salmond died? Who saw that coming?

Ultimately, did us a lot of favours, getting all the terfs, tories and general wankers out of the SNP.

Obsessed with Nicola Sturgeon's bald ex husband spending embezzled party funds on MULTIPLE HAIRDRYERS.

Also a KEEN GAMER, he picked up five copies of the Nintendo DS and The Sims 3 Pets.

All these people giving their money to fight for Scottish independence and now it turns out to have been squandered!

I see R Nic moved has moved to London.

London lesbians stand back and stand by.

I watched the interview, and whilst most of it was believable and seemed to make sense, the motorhome stuff was the only answer I found myself going "really?"

I do think it is bullshit she is getting attacked for the "no comment" police interview though. Everyone knows that is what you are meant to do!

The funny thing is, I can believe she might have been fairly clueless about all this on account of her allegedly being in a lavender marriage, but of course she's never going to admit that so she's kind of in a bind!

this being a "lavender marriage" or not would not prevent you from seeing the obvious. how can somebody on his salary be buying an £80k car and watches and coffee machines that cost thousands apiece? of course she knew!

It was a 100k+ salary, and I believe her that she didn't know how expensive the stuff actually was. I would never expect that THESE cost £2600!

The car, again, I think it reasonable to just assume it was bought on some sort of finance deal, and the motorhome had fake invoices and at least an attempt at an explanation, that it was for campaigning during COVID. What I struggle to believe is the story that she didn't even notice it or that her mother in law didn't mention it at any point either, but the latter would be more reasonable if the in-laws were in on it. No idea if they were questioned at any point though.

Most of the things he bought were pretty unremarkable, when you take the cars and the motorhome out of it, it was only about 300k - and remember he was at it for YEARS, so it would have been easy to conceal. With her not noticing - perhaps she was barely at the in-laws? She probably can't really say much without revealing the inevitable.

Bizarrely, Nicola Sturgeon is playing the Deputy PM in a new Sky show alongside Michael Gove and Penny Mordant.
