As we know, Enya herself admitted in a 1997 interview that she had broken up with a man she was in a relationship with. 💔
The main question is—who was that man?
Let's discuss this openly.
(Especially fans who lived in 90s, as something might have surfaced in the press at that time).
 
Did she actually clarify that it was a MAN?

Is Enya homophobic?

Are we sure it couldn't have been a goat?

I'm back to confirm that it was Dr Harold Shipman. Reports say it was a very erotic relationship, however Shipman said she was trouble "changing wills and that".
 
In short:
There was one relationship Enya was in that the tabloids picked up on. The person was believed to been some Spanish guy in the late 90s (1996-1998).
I assume she kind of chose a Spanish guy (distant Spanish roots) rather than complete fell in love and all that. After all, this lady did say in 1991: "Falling madly in love and getting married would be the most horrific thing that could happen". :D

The only name that has been floating around online for ages (probably as a joke) is Tom Esposito, according to this (not very trustworthy) site which assumes she's straight and only had one relationship. 😅 This century at least, she always said partners, not one guy.

I kind of think the fans' indifference to is partly because they know she seems to be doing fine on the whole since this, has had other romantic relationships but they don't really become more significant than the music, and that this guy wasn’t right for her Eny-way. ☺️
 
I always thought that interview was done in late 1989, just published on that picture disc in 1990. Definitely a different person/people she was with then than around 1997. There aren't additional names, but I think there might've been some women she was occasionally involved with in the 80s (besides Roma haha). ☺️

There was a time in 1997 (due to stalkers, not hate for men) where she barred any male staff from her room at a hotel in Sydney.

Oh and he said (I asked) that the white cat in the Wild Child music isn't called Pearl, nor is the cat Enya's 🥲 and she doesn't own any cats currently.
