Rihanna - Miscellaneous Musings 2026

I feel she would be great at the next BOND theme. It needs to be better than her Black Panther singal but I would say that would be a statement return then followed by a proper BOP and albam.

She really has the voice for a Bond theme now that you mention it. Big orchestra behind her. Dramatic lyrics. MANIFESTING NOW

Something like Sledgehammer from Star Trek Beyond wouldn’t be a terrible idea at all.

Given that the next Bond is coming in 2027 at the earliest, I would prefer something a little sooner though.

Here for this being a hit as it was always a stand out from that album and was surprised they never bothered with a proper single release at the time.

Just my personal opinion, but I find her an unconvincing spokeswoman for JD. It doesn't help that she's succeeding Charlize Theron (and the wonderful Estonian model Carmen Kass before her). She doesn't have the same aura of royalty/divinity/excellence for me - which to me is what JD is about. If they wanted to cast a non-White woman, my mind instantly goes to someone like Lupita Nyong'o or Iman. But it seems they were going for a louder culture-mogul-glamor.

I have a feeling that ever since, like 7-8 years ago, brands stopped giving a fuck about that; they might as well have chosen Addison Rae despite pissing off a lot of people. Brands are struggling, babes! And let’s be real: a brand doesn’t cast a face like this to please purists. They cast to stay commercially relevant, so if anything, this move feels less about “losing prestige” and more about redefining what works in 2026.

Pretty much exactly this. I think luxury industries have shifted from leading to following. Good or bad depending on your perspective.
