I voted for Green this morning.

The hustings were appalling with outright racism from the Advance UK candidate, transphobia from all but the Green and Lib Dem candidates, and the Reform arsehole doing a Tr*mp and answering every question with either an attack on the Greens or an obviously made up story about some constituent they'd met that was concerned about (insert dog-whistle here).

Green were the only party there that made any sense or showed any humanity aside from the Lib Dem candidate, but she has no chance in this election.

Also troubling was the Tory candidate whose whole platform seemed to be transphobia and who had a little fan club in the front row who heckled the Lib Dem and Green candidates when they didn't agree with her assertion that trans women shouldn't be allowed in women's toilets.

I'll be glad when this election is over. It's shown a horrible side of this community, and I hope against hope that the Greens take it.

It's heartening to see 'Vote Green' signs everywhere, but it's worrying to read the poison on the local Facebook groups by anonymous members and to know that racists are racist in secret.

Still, I've voted Green in the poll and I hope I'm right.

They are anyway. It's a much worse scenario for Labour if the Greens are seen to become the anti-Reform vote rather than them. They would prefer Reform to win (it's only a byelection after all)

Also that back of the van definitely isn't Labour, because there's no chance Labour HQ would put anything like that out there without having the legal imprint declaring it's from them on every side of that van. Election results can be overturned by the courts and re-run (and have been!) if campaigns try putting out statements about opponents in election comms, without formally saying where it came from and who's legally liable.
