Not to act like I’m PETE FUCKING TONG but I’ve been involved in the nightlife industry since the 90s. I’ve run nights that were featured in Mixmag, I’ve worked for events in Ibiza and spent years living there, and some of my best mates run leading labels, produce and DJ. I’ve spent the best part of 30 years in the scene directly and indirectly.

I am far from a bible but I dare say I have a very strong grasp of the culture and I know the difference between an obscure underground classic, a breakthrough smash hit and a cheesy edm pop tune.

Respectfully, you havent got a fucking clue in contrast.
 
“Fade” was an absolutely fucking massive beach house classic for years in Ibiza before that commercial remix came along. It’s one of the great soulful house songs ever recorded.

But sure, “not many people have heard of it so it must be crap”

Does anyone know of/remember Stella Getz? I've always had a soft spot for these two (objectively) rubbish songs.

I probably should have thrown So Lonely instead which was basically just an American Dream / Monsoon mash-up.

You could pretty much include everything she put her lips to (although some of the pink-pound grabbing covers were a bridge too far even for me)

I love the way she comes in at 11 on this one and just bellows out the entire thing. LIGHT and SHADE! :disco:



A rare moment of (relative) subtlety while slathered in enough fake tan to bankrupt the entire cast of The Only Way is Essex.

CERTIFIED BANGER, which admittedly sounds rubbish now. Remember first hearing it off my tits in The Emporium, genuinely sent me a bit mental.

I really think Moopy needs to stop, look and reflect at the sexism behind the erasure of K-Llo.
 
Even ATB himself has since disowned this as an incredibly lazy rehash of "9pm".

And I'd agree on the version Continental Europe got. But I actually think the UK mix of this was even better than "9pm" - much more frantic energy



 
It's like someone fed 9pm into AI and asked it to make the same tune.
 
That is such a rip off of something else but I can't think what.
 
Although the I love You Stop vocal stab was used either in a good remix or another tune at some point.
