The follow up to Guts is supposed to be imminent. Hopefully a little bit of a departure from the last album(s). I loved Vampire, and a few album tracks (Love is Embarrassing, Making the Bed, Pretty Isn’t Pretty) but I think the lack of development in sound from the first album didn’t help its performance. Nothing really stuck after Vampire. The first album is still one of the biggest albums of the decade so far though, and was just 5 years ago, so I wouldn’t count her out.

Absolutely here for this. She's been involving some interesting people in her live shows, like Bikini Kill, The Breeders and Robert Smith from The Cure and I wonder what influence that could be having.

I hope it's a four letter word for a title. I do enjoy a bit of continuity like that.

I'd love a proper Lily Allen recorded duet

I think they're both great records. Yes, very much part 1 and part 2 but both strong enough for that to hold up.

barely a "stitch" of make-up? interesting expression

nothing about this aesthetic or title interests me at all

Ugh I already know it’s going to be more of the same

The 'word' is that it's quite different but we should be aware that no-one has heard anything and the 'word' is therefore coming from her label, press etc.

I'm here for it - she's been in the studio with Robert Smith, come on.

Single appears to be called “Drop Dead” out April 17th

I sometimes wonder why people pre-order albums like this given that the shops will be absolutely stacked with them then I remember how many people don't actually have a shop anywhere near them anymore.

Isn’t the first pressing/run of vinyl supposed to come with something extra? Like stickers, a poster, bonus tracks, or a different cover?

Oh, there's always something like that. Sabrina Carpenter had several...and as for Taylor Swift, well...

“Drop dead” confirmed for 4/17. Credits include Amy Allen, her longtime collaborator Dan, and herself.

There were reports last night that Phoebe Bridgers is a co-writer on the album and a certain sector of the internet has lost it. With joy, I should clarify.

I like the song but I don’t understand why the video is so cheap

Hiring the actual Palace of Versailles and shooting it like that is a gag. LOVE IT. Apart from her outfit which feels quite 'for the nonces'

I assume dUb's joking with the cheap comment but it's hard to tell

It's the lo-fi 80s camcorder aesthetic the young people like. I think it's fun here, when used on one of the most grand and opulent settings possible

the song is pretty good on first play. I like how it builds and twists and the second verse with the "eurostar to France" lyric.

I really, really like the song, but yep, that video is monstrous to look at. Is something less shit when it's intentionally shit? Hmm...
