For the first time in my entire life, I’m queuing for Record Store Day.

For context, I woke at 5, wanted to go for a walk but have stitches in my foot after having a couple of cancers removed on Thursday, and so I thought I’d go to the queue as the store is literally on the end of my road.

People are already annoying me. :D

I’m en route to the main record shop here too. I won’t be there til about half an hour after it opens, but hopefully there’ll still be plenty left and not much of a megaqueue.

I’m hoping for these:
Air - Moon Safari - The Athens Concert
Alison Goldfrapp - Flux (Deluxe)
Annie Lennox - Live in Central Park
Bryan Adams - Tough Town
CMAT - Diet Baby
M People - Northern Soul
Taylor Swift - Elizabeth Taylor

In the words of Madge, I hope you find what you’re looking for!

My list:

Aha- Analogue
Elton John: positiva remixes
En Vogue- EV3
Madonna confessions tour live
Metronomy- b sides and rarities
Sheena Easton- Shockwave
Sophie Ellis Bextor- read my lips
Vince Guraldi

I’m not bothered or worried about getting anything though. It all turns up eventually.

GOOD LUCK LOVE!

Thank you! :)Yep I don’t feel DESPERATE for any item in particular either, which is a nice way to be!

Gay behind me being really annoying and talking about getting Madonna.

Decided I’m buying every copy if there’s any left. Having already briefed my cousin’s husband right at the front to get me one anyway. :D

So pleased there is absolutely nothing of interest to him to have to worry about.

I went to Salisbury yesterday and one of the shops was literally half empty in preparation for sticking the shelves. I did pick up a West German copy of Super Trouper though.

Update:

Gay Tory councillor in front of me who claims to be a massive Madonna fan. :(

…but behind my cousin’s husband who is at the front and has now been instructed to grab all the Madge he can :disco:

Happy birthday @lolly 🥰 One step closer to pension age xxx
Thanks petal. God I hope I can make work so I can retire at 60. Thank Kylie for that civil service pension I resented paying into so much when I was young.

We were planning to go to Cheltenham today, but railworks mean all trains are diverted via Newport and would take double the usual time, so we're off to Cardiff instead, which I always love having a mince around. And as it is my day, I'm forcing my choice of restaurant, which is possibly my favourite in the country.

Not this one. He’s ROTTEN.

Though there is something ridiculous about the fact that you vaguely admire a Tory who hasn’t defected to Reform as there’s so few of them left round here :D

Happy birthday @lolly!
I brought up some mild complaints to my father's carer yesterday, I've noticed some things that my siblings haven't since I've been staying in the house for the past week. Of course I feel like a right cunt now even though I've had some valid criticisms and we're paying (well my father is) enough money for the care.
It doesn't help that she has about 5 words of German, so we need to use a translation app for everything.

Got all my RSD bits! Never would I have thought that I wouldn’t bother with the Madonna release, but I can’t justify that expense on a live album that’s missing loads of songs from the actual show.

£56 here! Insane.

But it will hold its price so it’s worth it for me. It seems genuinely limited.

Fregging weekend not been record shop donkyes needs som donlondon
Still wateing bigggg hit happy bd lolly av blast g easy steps 🤣🤙🏿👊🏼💪🏾😎👊🏼

Massive ligers roxs fact

No Elton, En Vogue or Sheena here and I’m not paying £60 for a Charlie Brown soundtrack, so left Vince on the shelf.

Not too bothered about Elton and never expected the other two in my oh so hip and cool shop.

Necking laxatives and coffee after yesterday's fun time anesthesia. Just need some cigarettes now, but I haven't smoked in years.

I have never smoked but somehow find the idea of a strong black coffee and a cigarette appealing

I’m making a belated visit to a local indie to peruse the vinyl. I’ll take Sophie, Tanita Tikaram and maybe Louise if they’re still available, not fussed if I miss out.

I queued last year for Dannii and Kim and previously only if some of my non UK friends have asked me to try and get stuff for them.

I have a Tori Amos concert tonight too so a pretty decent Saturday.

Gutted I missed out on Madonna and Sophie E-B, but did pick up Annie Lennox, Elton & M People.

I had to work today and had to do a lunchtime dash - I got Nicky Wire but The Fall had sold out. I'll try some of the other Glasgow shops tomorrow - I got everything I wanted last year on the Sunday so let's see.

Sophie was gone but picked up Tanita. Louise was there for a mere £21.99 so would’ve been rude not to.

In Tori mode for the rest of the day for the show.

Currently being entertained by a hilarious Ukrainian street performer having a bash at Don't Look Back In Anger much in the vein of Maragarita Pracatan.. Definitely going to give her a few quid, and round it up to a fiver if she knows any Go_A.
