I watched Euphoria S1 and genuinely have no recollection of her even being in it. I first knowingly saw her in Anyone But You which was DREADFUL. But I loved The Housemaid.
 
I never really got the fuss over the first one. Nowhere near funny enough to be a comedy and nowhere near dramatic enough to be a proper drama. I thought it was just ok. :confused:
 
considering the era it's from I think it's aged extremely well. the writing is so superb, the one liners so immortal, it's a classic. I'm still nervous about this one. I don't want it to feel like a corporate soulless thing.
 
I liked the first because no matter how corny it is, it was all in good fun. I don't think it was ever seriously trying to be anything deeper than that.

I might be tempted to watch after. I tend not to really bite with the cheap and obvious, which the first one always seemed to me.
 
reviews are out and they're decent but not spectacular. 61 on metacritic. 3* in the Guardian. mixed-positive-ish from Variety.

I think this is one of those movies that where reviews barely even matter? People are going for the celebrity/fashion spectacle and subsequent memes.
 
It's just great that it's not a complete disaster, and it sounds like it has something to say, rather than only being a 2 hour informercial for luxury brands.
 
Well I didn’t care for the first one and really liked this, so make of that what you will.

Really not specifically spoilers at all but just in case people are extra sensitive:

Does a great job of the “revisiting characters 20 years later” genre and a decent job of balancing callbacks to the original (especially in the first 20 minutes when you’re BOMBARDED with them) and actual evolution.

I feel like some people might not like Miranda’s characterisation in this one but I totally get it.
 
I found this quite interesting/juicy. Unsurprisingly, Lauren Weisberger comes out of it very poorly from the OG Emily's perspective.

 
I really enjoyed this. It doesn't reinvent the wheel but the main four characters are so watchable and the actors do such a great job. I was also glad to be seeing all the shimmery outfits and eyeliner on the big screen.
 
I saw this today having watched the first one for the first time (!) yesterday. I enjoyed all the SNARK in that one (hideous skirt convention especially) but zoned out in the second half.

This one was pretty fun. Probably on a level with the first for me, which is about a 6.8/10

I thought the Gaga scene was a bit of a letdown though — shouldn’t there have been a memorable quote from that…? I love the idea of there being conflict between them but it was a pretty crap/nothingy scene in the end.
 
Saw it last night and it was fun. It was a little short on memorable moments, but overall a good watch.

That said, the way they tried to make the magazine the poor helpless 'victim' to corporate overlords was kinda hilarious.

Rather disappointed in this. I don’t know quite what I was expecting, but it’s very clear that they cobbled together some form of a script and story for the sake of it 20 years later purely for fan service. Only Nigel had any remnants of the character from the first film.

It was just a bunch of of scenes of familiar faces playing entirely different characters with the same names as before… and lots of cameos, half of whom I didn’t even notice until reading the long list in the credits. 4/10
 
I enjoyed it. It did feel a bit like all their agents had crawled all over the script to make sure everyone got some nice stuff to do but I don't mind that. It was difficult to come up with a premise that would bring these 4 people back together, and I don't mind that they lent into being slightly absurd and out there with their choices in that. Miranda was a lot more cheerful, but she is still an ice queen at heart so that's fine. Emily Blunt stole every scene she was in, again - there is a reason the first movie made her a star. Also she looks IDENTICAL - I mean, like she shot this filmn the week after the first one. Mad.
 
I'm seeing this in the next few days. I'm just going to take it for what it is - a light hearted film.
 
I'm honestly impressed that this wasn't embarrassing. It doesn't live up to the first one, but I did enjoy it. I saw it Monday, and between this and Michael, it was the most crowded I've seen a movie theater since before covid
 
It’s not iconic like the first one - its more like an extended Comic Relief reunion sketch but I did enjoy it - and I was happy they leaned in, ultimately, to being pretty kind to the characters.
 
Saw this today and I wasn't impressed to be honest. A bit boring and I found myself dozing off.
