Jessie Ware: I Could Get Used To This & Superbloom

Not to rub it in the face of Skindred's new number one fan (:(), but the versions of Sauna and Ride are proper extended mixes. Sauna is six minutes and Ride over eight.

Harder, better, longer (not faster), STRONGER :disco:

Excellent stuff on a first listen, this. Sauna & Don't You Know Who I Am felt like the initial standouts but it's a strong (& fully cohesive) album throughout. Let's get that number 1 album queen :queenofthenight:

I got a pal in the UK to download it for me. Middle of the Night is a worthy addition!

Loving the remixes too. Classic extended versions that don't mess with the actual songs too much. Love it!

TOP 5

01 Ride
02 No Consequences
03 Mr Valentine
04 Sauna
05 Automatic

Mon Amour knocking on the door but I think Middle of the Night will be right up there from what I heard of it on her live earlier. apparently it's a leftover from That! Feels Good!

Lennie has been enlisted:

The way she makes it sound like iTunes are offering physical product :D

Just out the Manchester signing… unsurprisingly not superblooming busy for a midday midweek signing but a decent number of homosexuals turned out.

Oh she wants this number one BAD, I jokingly said I almost brought her a wrist support and she laughed and said she was straight back to Banquet after this but fuck it she’s going for it.

She was lovely, attentive, hugs for everyone and she said Mon Amore was Sam’s favourite song. Gorgeous. Hope she gets it.

She definitely does want it.

Though possibly not as much as Skindred, who are much more openly pushing for the number one on their socials. Latest update: they are claiming only 100 sales in it and are doing it for everyone in the heavy metal community.

well if there's 100 sales in it she's closed the gap significantly since yesterday. I reckon she's gonna snatch it. hopefully by seventeen copies or something :disco:

Well I had this on in the car today on a very sunny drive and I have to say it sounded absolutely majestic. Certain songs absolutely pop and it’s also a sum of its parts album, where other songs are lifted as part of the whole experience.

I can’t remember the last time I listened to an album in full in my car either, rather than a playlist.

THE JESSUS EFFECT :disco:

And apologies for closing on a negative, but I do think that Automatic is the weakest song on the album - a lovely bit of fluff but it’s just there, and sounds too much like ICGUTT. Such a strange choice of promo single, considering what else was available.

Oh I know how to end on a positive - automatic aside, I could see this becoming my 3rd favourite Jessie album, after WYP and Tough Love!

If the other option is her being number two, this week there should be a BOYS' NUMBER ONE and a GIRLS AND GAYS' NUMBER ONE. Like when McDonalds gave you the choice of a Barbie or a Hot Wheels car. That way Jessie and this awful looking band can share

Let’s all celebrate the fact that a woman in her 40s making disco music in 2026 is on her 6th album and has never has a crossover hit but is in the running for a #1 album and career peak.

That! Feels Good! :disco:

:D at Jessie's latest IG story. Sorting out the drinks, sitting in the back of her very expensive three hour uber to Kingston.

"It's very neck and neck... we're throwing everything at it."

I’m not overly keen on her music but am tempted to throw a sale her way seeing that desperation 😃 Who’s she up against?

I just spent much too long watching Jessie sign albums on her live. Highlights:

Poor Lennie nearly choked to death on an Honest Burger.

Neither Jessie or Lennie responded positively to being offered a Mojito (presumably canned). Champers darling!

She stanned at bit at her own WYP deluxe tracks, especially Pale Blue Light, in an this is actually really great way.

Someone said she should do The Kill on tour and she said it would fit more with the next album, that she hasn't actually written yet :disco:

Pale Blue Light is high key her best song - mentions of it, The Kill, and Imagine It Was Us... I want them all on tour please

We were discussing this today. She needs to find a way to cross over her mums audience to her record buying gays one… she has everything to have her own version of The Kelly Clarkson Show and be a huge household name

WHY would you wish for Jessie Ware to have her own Kelly Clarkson Show? that's some dark sided energy. her career as an active popstar died with that show!

A show like that, combining her personality warmth and interview skills with songs and performance. Kelly is the only reference I can think of who does that.

Listen I'm still coming to terms with having to share this woman with all the other gays, I am not ready to start sharing her with MUMSNET

Today’s the day! Given how close it was, Jessie must have been really outselling Skindred on downloads the last couple of days and you have to assume her streams are better. So I guess it depends on how many vinyls were pushed in the last day or so. Skindred were smart by calling out the ‘Metal community’ and that will have helped them.

Best chart battle in ages!

The panic as he tries to walk back 'middle of the road' and the dirty laugh after 'I want it all the way up, up, up, up, up' :D

Skindred 20.4k to Jessie's 18.6k. Not that close in the end but a good number for Jessie.

Skindred sold nearly three thousand USBs!
