The Handmaid's Tale (TV Series)

I completely forgot about this. I've seen absolutely no marketing for it whatsoever.
 
That sounds like a plan. If I'm dissatisfied with the series, I can have Atwood restoring things. I hope there's more tiny details like Offred stashing butter portions in the morning to apply at night (because the smell would make it obvious during the day and moisuriser was something handmaid's weren't allowed), not to mention other beauty tips such as one ages at the elbows (I've never forgotten these essentials). Something the show also didn't capture was my favourite moment, or one that just stayed with me, and that was her brief reunion and parting of ways with badass Moira :disco:/:(

My channels have been flushed with Aunt Lydia. But I had zero memory of it being a thing until I couldn't escape from clips.
 
Onto episode 2. No idea what the girl was doing in the toilet cubicle and whether she tried to frame someone with something. Damn not being able to make things out sometimes on my TV.
 
Was really looking forward to today's episode where we learn about Aunt Lydia's arrival in Gilead but, once again, they've left out the interesting (gory) details from the book.

Quite enjoyed this episode but it could have done with more detail, it's like the writers are just trying to get the whole thing over with as quickly as possible.
 
Unfortunately episode 4 on my fire stick was in French so onto 5 it is. I am guessing that dentist is infertile if he did what I suspect happened.
 
Oh good heavens. And to just assume Aunt Lydia had a good aim. Unless they found a copy of Operation Wolf (1987) among her belongings. I did guess the firing blank thing though (*pats self on the back*). Fantastic for their dynamic though.
 
I've enjoyed it so far and reading this thread, I am definitely going to get the book after the season has aired.

I wonder if they're planning on more seasons and expanding it beyond the book like they did with The Handmaid's Tale.
 
Ahh, so the pearl girl wants to contact June and she's figuring the only way to do so now is to put Agnes in harm's way. That's my guess anyway.

Wish the final 2 episodes were here ready. Maybe I'll try and wait for them as 1 at a time just isn't enough in this TV climate.

I'm on Episode 7. Got confused trying to work out if Daisy is the same as Nicole (as in June's daughter), but the timeline wouldn't scan.

In the book Daisy is Nicole which would explain why she looks so much like June except the writers have stated that they've changed the timeline and she isn't Nicole but will be something "similar". Why pick an actress that looks like June then? If the writers had stuck to the original story and timelines everything happening would make more sense.
 
Blimey. I actually assumed the bath scene was a dream sequence.

Also really hope Agnes' mother gets put in her place. What a mean woman, brilliantly played though.
 
Really don't want to wait a whole year for season 2. I found some of the finale a bit corny and the bisexual love triangle completely unnecessary.

Atwood's wooden cameo was a nice surprise.
 
The way the writers are dragging all of this out makes me think it'll just drag on, season after season. At least the things happening in the book made sense, this plot is all over the place though and I'm disappointed with it. I mean, obviously I'll watch S2 to see how they're going to reconcile everything but I can't even be bothered to watch the S1 episodes again which is unprecedented for me.

Can't believe that Margaret Atwood did the cameo when they're mutilating her story.
