Madonna + Sabrina Carpenter - Bring Your Love

Bugger

Does this mean we have to go back to liking it a bit now?

We are focusing on Top 40 first week now for this focus track before she unleashes the third proper single

It's fast and flashy and I love that it goes back to an era that she was around for, but ultimately skipped - the brigade of Madonna next doors who all specialised in nimble slices of here one week and gone the next dance-pop excitement (Cathy, CeCe, Kym, Dannii, etc) are all sponged up into a glossy Madge throwback. There is no originality and the lyrics are proper placeholder cliches with absolutely no sense of fun to them, but it properly basks in the beats and its own simplistic, pointless absurdity of this 67 year old Queen of Pop wanting to point herself out, and bring it, one more time and all the fun nonsense effortlessly conjured as she pulls focus with a focus track that is beyond beneath her legacy and yet in its own way solidifies it as a homage to a specific style of dance pop that operated in her shadow. I love that balsa wood pop star Sabrina is a mere prop, someone who is an echo of an echo of a pop star who despite her youth and obvious good looks poses no threat to Madonna whatsoever (it almost sounds like she's being mocked when the build up of what she might bring amounts to nothing more than clout for Madge to exploit).

God this almost makes me think it’s really good.

Then I listen to it again.

I tried to be balanced Fanny. Let me try again.

It's an all the bells and whistles outing for Madge when the actual product is hilariously minor and entirely reliant on the exquisite sample. She knows where the bodies are buried - along with any semblance of an original idea. 9.5/10.

Better?

Evil dUb trying to subtly derail the thread. Anyone in the market for a song called ________ _________ _________??

back into the UK spot 200 at 155 today

Up to #6 on her current spotify top 10 with over 7m. Feel So Free hanging in there at #10 with 7.1m

I've been SINGING and MINCING about to this in my head all morning. I still think it's FAB.

Yep, I agree the vocals could be better, but I am not getting all the sudden hate

For me, I don't think it's "hate" so much as meh. Is this really the best the queen of pop can come up with? A cute 90s pastiche? It's not bad at all, but I don't understand how people could be blown away by it either.

I asked google AI about this and it was a shady bitch about the fans:

“A No. 29 peak for a new Madonna single in the UK would generally be considered a commercial disappointment or a "flop" by mainstream standards, although it might be viewed by some fans as a reasonable showing for a legacy artist.”

Saw some comments online 'that's worse than Living for Love!!!'

Better than Medellin though, which is more recent... and better than both of em!!

It was almost her best charting song since 4 Minutes wasn’t it?

Oh well, #29 in 2026 is a hit. Question is whether it sinks without trace next week.

Remains on R1 A-list for second week. Will see if it does on R2 tomorrow. Video drop should happen soon. Hopefully streams daily stay near 1m... ?

I love it too. Yes, it's not the peak of innovation for M but I still find it a great melancholy listen.

I think #29 is a bit of a disappointment, given it's a Sabrina collab, but then - this could've been a hit if they'd released a more statement track.

Who cares about the charts? It's bigger than Bowie on my Grindr.

i'd agree, but i think this is rather a co - lab.
