I’m sorry but the Green Party are doing my tits in today. Banging on about a shift in politics away from Labour while completely ignoring the fact that most of their campaigning against Labour overwhelmingly threw votes to Reform, not them, and the leader talking shite about a complete shift from Labour to Greens when that literally didn’t happen.

Good policies aside, the delusion dressed as good spin is STAGGERING

Wales, yes maybe.
Scotland, doesn't seem so.
England, I think they are a little underperforming but I haven't been paying attention to what is still left to call. If it is urban, they'll end up fine too I'm sure.
 
It's not an overwhelming election for the Greens so far, but they're set to win a third council apparently, as London counts. They've also performed well in Manchester.
 
It's about par for the course for what you'd have expected for the Greens from the last few months. They've had some good results.
 
Reform totally obliterated Wakefield's Labour stronghold! :o

The local Labour councillor where I live had been in the post nearly 30 years.
 
Clusters of success for every party (apart from Labour holding on and a few cheeky gains in Scotland)

With all due respect I think it's kind of insane to blame the Greens for Labour failing so badly. Labour brought this entirely on themselves. The Greens just offered an alternative that a lot of people liked better.

I was a Labour voter for 20+ years. I even clung on to having faith that Starmer would come good for longer than most. That they lost a lot of voters to Reform is to some degree an unfortunate sign of the times. That they lost a huge swathe of voters like me is entirely their own fault.

It's exactly that. Time was I would have held my nose and voted Labour but that time has been, gone and is probably gone for good. Adopting far-right policies hasn't given them a single vote and has lost them millions. We saw it happen at the GE, they were polling in the high 40s just before the announcement but took just over 33% of the vote on the night - the decliane started during the election campaign and hasn't stopped.

The notion that they can stop the rot by replacing Starmer with WarioStarmer Wes Streeting just strengthens my conspiracy thepry that they're both MI5 plants, designed to destroy the party.
 
In Scotland, the Tories lost 19 seats and Reform took 17 so there is no real shift to the right at Holyrood. The actual voting split might tell another story.

Given who the SNP flushed out and that Regean and Ewing are gone too, it's very much a shift left parliamentarily
 
Eden is fab. But yes we’re at a point where a generation raised on copypasta shitposting is hitting political maturity and it’s going to cause a lot of horror and bewilderment to older pundits. :D

(Fuck these bad faith right-wing hit jobs though, obviously)
