SNP/Green. Would have been both votes green but they didn't stand in my constituency :(

I'm probably gonna vote Green in the city elections, but I do really like our Labour councillors. My ward is Labour x3, but just across the road is Green x3. The city has more Tory councillors but a Lib-Lab coalition, who I don't think are that shit.

Definitely Green in the last ever Essex County Council elections.
 
My voting papers arrived today as well - was a bit :( that there's no Green in the actual seat and I don't really feel like voting for anyone who thinks my basic rights are a political pawn so I might spoil that ballot.

Alison Thewliss specifically is one of the good ones in the SNP (even if she didn't give me a job once :angry:) so I didn't mind too much giving them the constituency vote.

Good to know (sorry about the job tho'). I'll dig a little deeper; I haven't checked out the Lib Dem but I don't see them doing much and it would be a bit of a waste.

Doesn't seem worth staying up overnight at all, really. Scotland doesn't count overnight any more, I am not sure Wales is either, and regardless, the list seats can't be given out until entire regions are counted anyway, so we might not know whether the SNP get a majority until the weekend.

Why does this election determine if Starmer will still be PM? He’s clearly extremely unpopular so why does this matter for that?

I don't think he has any intention of going, but media speculation loves creating drama. They will be likely dramatic results, but it doesn't change anything in terms of national government.

However there may be an internal attempt to remove him, as has been rumoured for the last two weeks, if the results are too bad (spoiler: they probably will be).

if they get absolutely hammered it will offer proof to Labour MPs that the party cannot win an election again on its current path, and therefore the temptation to actually make the move and replace Starmer will be strong. you can't really retain any credibility once you've been electorally decimated even if it is "just" council elections.

The Tory vote in Scotland was always helped by them being The Conservative And Unionist Party - meant the flagshaggers voted for them. Reform are just flagshaggers squared so they will get traction at the expense of the Tories.
 
I seen Sarwar canvassing around leafy Newlands in Glasgow with a troop of twunks holding clipboards.

Got my vote.
 
God I hate this Tory voting system. FPTP is crazy stupid to use for an office as powerful as a mayoralty. The current parliament has undone it, but not in time for these elections.
 
The only thing I'm sure of is there's gonna be a run on ENGERLAND FLAGS when the next set of council budgets are announced.

Scottish and Welsh people voting for Reform really shows how this one-policy movement is working here. As if Farage gives a fuck about anyone or anything even 3 miles north of W1
 
Tactical voting kept them out here. Overjoyed. Lib Dem retain the council and Reform only gained two seats overall.

Realise it’s a drip in the ocean, but I really do love where I live sometimes- feels a bit like the Corbyn disaster night when we were one of the few places to give a Labour MP a vote share raise.
 
I'm almost certain Reform will get in across most of the island 😭

I voted Green. I wanted to cite Lib Dem but they weren't running in my area :(
 
The racist flagshaggers gained ten seats here. It's like Brexit 2.0.

Basically Labour have 20 seats, Conservatives 11 seats and Reform 10 seats.
 
the problem with an increasingly tactical electorate is it goes to shit at the locals because there isn’t the data to provide a clear route to stopping The Baddies.
 
Reform took a third of the available seats.

My ward stayed Labour, with Green rising to a close second. My mate's ward up the road went Reform.
 
I do think it’s not as bad news as it looks- locals often swing and I think there’s been a LOT of successful tactical voting. Hopefully that will be replicated en masse and in a far more concentrated fashion at a general election.
