Of COURSE it would be the hottest day of the year when I have to do my first post-test drive for FIVE HOURS across the country.

The heat frazzled my iPhone on the dashboard so I had to do the last hour of the journey following ROAD SIGNS

Got in the car after work, turned the ignition on and was met by "ICE POSSIBLE - PLEASE DRIVE CAREFULLY" message. According to Lickle Red it was -6c outside. By the time I got to the dual carriageway it had recalculated to 31c.

In the olden days we used to have big books full of maps from the AA! Did you get there alright using the signs?

When using my iphone for Apple maps (or whatever it's called) I have the phone in my driver-side door and just listen to the voice through the car radio.

My car thermometer said 41c

Work has been a STRUGGLE. Being in a meeting where there was no fan/the only window doesn’t open was not fun. And we missed a thunderstorm by about five miles

I once held the map for my dad when we drove around the Isle of Skye, none of it made sense, turned out we weren’t even on it. Yay for GPS.

I'm happy to say I did make it via the signs. Luckily it was only from Salisbury and I know enough places between here and there to get back.

Just before my iPhone died I was saying "I can't imagine driving without a sat nav, it's so handy to know the shape of all the roads coming up."

I'm lucky that pretty much anywhere I am I just need to know if Edinburgh or Glasgow is nearer and go that way until I recognise somewhere.

Started to cool down now. I walked an hour in the heat earlier after the gyn and I'm totally wiped. Loved it though.
