All of her lead singles have had a pretty high burn rate for me tbh. But there is usually plenty to like on the albums.

this is excellent. love the production. aquatic with a hint of the macabre? lush. she also sounds superb and a bit more mature vocally I think. excited for more.
 
Love the second verse with the vocal layering and her diction is fixed!
 
I think this will grow on me. I can imagine this will be huge for her.

It's very PLEASANT. I like it but it's a typical sounding lead single for her. Which probably means it's gonna be forgotten about by next week.

And I agree on the Weeknd comparison. I like the moody synths.
 
Solid numbers overall, but will need to hold very well or midweek remix/physical/video push to nab #1 on the Hot 100.

I'm liking this a lot too. I agree that she sounds great, probably less showy than she had in the past but it is all layered so wonderfully.

The last album was easily my most enjoyable top to bottom listen from her and this bodes well for more of the same.
 
I don't know about the video... nice cinematography etc and looks expensive obviously but her ONE expression becomes boring after a while and why on earth would she have been with a guy like THAT anyway?
 
Yeah I’m already over it. It’s giving pleasant but unmemorable album track.
 
if there's one thing the UK is gonna do it's send an Ariana song straight to #1
 
The gap has been closed between it and Sam/Olivia though, so it could well slip to #2 which I think happened to Yes And as well?
 
I expected it to be surefire #1 - the fact that a 13 week number one which has been out for over a year is troubling it is wild.
 
Oh this way better than I'd come to expect from Ariana. Nice to have the pop beat restored as opposed to whatever it was in the 10s.
 
So this is the Eternal Sunshine tour, but she will have a new album out part way through it, but so far only performing one track from it. I wonder if she will switch the setlist up by the time the tour hits the UK. Would be weird to have a full new album out but largely ignore it whilst touring 🤔

After some initial hesitation, I do have this stuck in my head. The vocal layering and the little production flourishes really make this click.
