I've really enjoyed it. It's been a while doing any amount of writing, and I genuinely think I'm better at talking about music than I was five months ago.A deserved number 1, just as it was back in 95. It soundtracked the long hot summer of that year for me (remember the whole HOSEPIPE BAN carry on?) thanks to an extended mix I'd taped off Radio 1. It's still a MOMENT even now.
Huge credit on this thread, Ag - it's been excellent work & a true LABOUR OF LOVE. Not to mention perseverance - Jark would have stopped around #495![]()
Delighted to finally hear from you!I've been admiring this from afar, and all I can say is TASTE!
A very nice curation of cheesy good vibes pop to the top 100 of 90s dance where you really can't go wrong. Well done for sticking with it! I will go back over at some point and make a note to listen to some of the lesser known ones to me.
With you on that. I bought a few old 45s at a thrift shop a couple of months back & considering reviving my old thread to review them - I genuinely miss doing it.I've really enjoyed it. It hasn't been difficult talking about stuff you love. I'm just gutted it's over.
@Sardonicus worked it outHow the FUCK did we forget about “Set You Free”
A very APPROPRIATE top 3.
Janice would be THRILLED.
It did not. It's fun, I bought it at the time, but rarely choose to play it.congrats ag on finishing your list - that's not easy to do, not everyone has that!!
and what a massive NINETIES SLUT you areI need to read back to find out but did 2 Times by Ann Lee make 500-101 somewhere?
Oh absolutely, I have a lot of love for the 00s too, but 2004 can rot.I love that with one or two exceptions, Ag has been in his 90s bag for 30 years and said no thanks to much that followed![]()

Ok 201-400 in visual form. There's a couple mistakes, but the songs are all there.

Just caught up with this. What a pleasingly correct list

26 Bloc Party - Flux (2007)
Picture it, it's 2007 and internet gays are patiently waiting for the big Kylie comeback. It drops early evening and it's 2 Hearts, a Goldfrapp pastiche.
Thankfully Girls Aloud dropped Call The Shots, and out of nowhere indie favourites Bloc Party, drop a huge dance track - one part New Order, the other late 90s trance and house.
Homosexual Kele who I suspect is rather difficult loved dance music, citing the likes of Livin Joy as one of his all time faves. I have no doubt the other members were appalled, I however was in heaven - it was a passionate, yearning dance banger.
It was the era when dance music and indie really crossed over and you can imagine this blasting out in the student union bars, flip phones, emo haircuts and charity wristbands aplenty.
Stay with it, it's a 10/10 bangerI'm giving this a listen now, Ag, for the first time ever & it's not familiar. Perfectly fine, Mr S hates it, but maybe I need a few more listens for it to settle in. I've no issue with it, although I'm surprised it hit your top 30.
I'm not AGAINST it, but might have expected a lower position. I'll work on Mr S, he can be a bit stubborn about these things then he suddenly cottons on.Stay with it, it's a 10/10 banger
