he's been having such a moment these last few years. I saw one of those "immersive" exhibits in London a few years back, it was great. glad he got to enjoy the acclaim. Martin Parr and now Hockney - a bad year for the loss of British greats!!

What a life + body of work. I always feel he was quite a good figure of SOFT POWER for gays in the UK. Generally well liked, basically Alan Bennett with a paint brush.
