World Cup 2026 (3 Viewers)

Cape Verde making this rather difficult for Spain so far..

I wish the ITV commentators would stop making Cape Verde out to be a team of amateurs. They won their group in qualifying and reached the QF in the Africa Cup of Nations twice since 2013. They're not a bad side at all.

As much as I'm not pro-FIFA

This does vindicate at least one of their decisions. Moments like these are exactly why the expansion is a good thing.

I haven't watched a match yet due to lack of alluring ties but so far the results seem quite GOOD in that the big boys aren't all winning/steamrollering over the little princes. Graham Potter's Sweden winning 5-1 is a gag.

I can’t have the cruel Madison take the lead in copabet again.

:nononono:
#597/85,000 in the world :disco:

Also #1 in PwC Malmö.

(The points ramp up for the knock-out stages, rendering all my hard work pointless.)

If i had any possible desire to stay up late to watch this Uruguay/Saudi Arabia match, it has long gone. Pretty poor.

You have to give credit for those that will be watching Iran v New Zealand at 2am.

Are Saudi Arabia going to pull another shock :o

Not that I am allowed to bet on football, but should I be able to, I might have just thrown a few quid on Saudi Arabia, ahem... :eyes:

FUCK MY ENTIRE LIFE. Albeit that it's a 19:00 kick off here, so actually it feels like a bit of an early finish today.

I ended up not watching Cabo Verde-Spain as I watched everything yesterday and thought I needed a break of what I presumed would be a completely one-sided match. Kind of annoyed I didn't now.

Asian teams undefeated so far, South American teams without a win.

That might partly be because everything is being a draw, but still.

They have an insanely revolving door/Tory Prime Minister-esque approach to their managers. Something like six now in the past couple of years. Considering there’s probably a golden handshake thing going on, it’s a job I’d take in a heartbeat- you’re probably going to get a fortune for a month or so’s work. :D

I know there’s plenty of naysayers but still loving this World Cup expansion. All the love coming towards Cabo Verde is joyous. I’ve been doing so many stories to do with their fans and teams- it’s infectious!

brilliant second half of France Senegal. a warning shot to the other favourites

What a cracking match. Senegal should have put away one of their several chances in the first half.

Some actual good football yesterday. Even the Norway match was entertaining.

Shame England have to bring down the tone later.

Mr Sheena is in Mexico with me this week and is trying to be all productive about finding us somewhere “nice” to watch the England match and getting it so fucking wrong.

“Oh there’s a lovely fish restaurant that has a tv in it. It’s got a really good wine list”.

NO.

If it doesn’t have bottles of terrible lager with slices of lime in their necks, it’s not an appropriate place to watch an England match in Mexico.

I thank you.

He also suggested an English bar.

NOOOOO.

Maybe you can go to the fish restaurant on one of the days when there aren’t any matches.
