In light of recent revelations, what do you think of this not even remotely camp pop standard?

It's catchy but I would never listen to it voluntarily.
 
i have a "brazil" playlist that kicks off with this schlager. bam! the amanda lear version is also fun.
 
I once made the fatal error of doing this at karaoke on a work night out. I assumed it'd be a crowd-pleaser, which it was, except the DJ put on some kind of extended mix with a 3 minute instrumental section in the middle. It was excruciating. I was also dressed as a parrot at the time.
 
I have the Ultimate Manilow compilation and can confirm for anyone who may not be familiar with any other BAZ hits that this is very much a one-off triumph
 
i quite like "daybreak" as well. and a bit of mandy though i'm quite a long way from rachey still.
 
I also secretly quite like BERMUDA TRIANGLE just for the SHEER LUDICROUSNESS FACTOR

I've always loathed this one. In fact, it's only 'Mandy' that I actually like (and 'Could It Be Magic' - Donna version obv)

Belatedly bumping this because @Iguana, @Tisch and I (with mums in tow) are going to see him tonight at his last UK concert :disco: although he's said that before... I think he's been on more farewell tours than Cher at this point.

Apparently his voice has deteriorated quite a lot since a lung cancer scare last year but I'm sure there'll be enough campness to compensate.

I was there last night sadly just watching a film. Would have otherwise taken them up on the seat filling offers I got through the week. But I was certain he’d probably not play Ready To Take a Chance Again.

I didn’t realise it was also his 83rd birthday too.

This is a Barry guilty pleasure - and, rather like many of them now, I think of Johnny Mathis, another of the late pronouncing gays, what an amazing life he has had, entertaining, bringing joy - if you're going to spend time on Earth there are a lot of worse things you could be doing.

 
A solid 10 but one of those songs I never actively listen to but happy to hear it when it pops up on a playlist or the radio

The staff eventually cottoned on and started making bones about moving us, but the in-laws' view was brilliant and I cared more about staying with them and them having a good view than me. I had wine, and plenty of space around me in all directions I was HAPPY!

I actually have a Barry story. It's not terribly respectful I'm afraid. He was due to perform outside on a TV show, and I guess was just having a quiet moment, sitting there, at a piano, and had no staff around him... my friend was coming out of the building and, seeing him, walked over to where he was and Almost Touched Him because he thought it was a Wax Work and then realised it was An Actual Alive Person. Sorry Barry.
