Roxette - "Crash! Boom! Bang!"

I wasn't sure whether to post this in Pop Toilet or Classics - I guess it falls somewhere in the middle. Almost exactly. Anyway, it remains my favourite Roxette album - rather downbeat and melancholic in parts (the title track in particular) has ensured that for me. And I think it has aged pretty well. Just ignore the super-schmaltzy "Vulnerable" please.

The Crash! Boom! Bang! Tour was the first concert I even went to. Back then I was a HUGE Roxette fan and to be honest I still love their early work and I even like the last albums. I played this album a lot when I went to my father's in the weekends. It has been years since I last played it though (I should look for it) so I can't really rate it now. Crash! Boom! Bang! (the song) is one of their best though and a definite 11/10. Just like You Don't Understand Me that one should have been a classic.

Sleeping In My Car just never runs out of fuel, and the middle-8 is like being in the middle of the whole collision in slow motion. I remember being shouted down the stairs that Roxette were on TOTP and running to see it. Marie really was the original Pink, but with much better songs of course. I also remember buying the single in Woolworths, who had the song beside the number 2 - if only.

I'm going to have to revisit this album, which will probably result in me ploughing through them all.

SAME! Marie I hope you can forgive me. The song is an 8 AT THE VERY LEAST and a 9 if I let myself transport to 1994 and the record store where I bought this.

Kinda loving this song now. Marie sounds great and looks amazing, from a purr to a roar, her voice remains so singular. I'm so overdue a C!B!B! re-appraisal.

It’s a good album, but I jumped off board around Tourism so never fully gave it the time I did the big two.

I did enjoy Queen Lena’s rendering of it when I saw them live in London. I remember thinking it was one of the songs that suited her voice best from the back catalogue.

Same here. I was so entrenched in Britpop I never gave CBM a chance but in fact.. it’s probably their best studio album!!
