I've really got into Earthstar Mountain this month. Perfect for this time of you. The two tracks you picked out are my favourites (Mountain and Earthstar) but the whole album is lovely in a wash-over-you kind of way

 
This has gone top 5 on the hot 100 this week:



Co-written by Miranda Lambert and I think her fingerprints are on it.
 
I had a flick through Bryan's new LONG album this week and this one stood out. It was the only one that did mind.

 
Paper Kites album is out... I'm so lucky that they're quite frequent with album releases - 7 in 12 years. This one seems to be going back to their folk/acoustic beginnings

 
Yeah I’m enjoying it. Missing Kid, Yellow Light and Lonelier In Heaven are my early standouts
 
Searows is someone I'm obsessed with at the moment. Folk and Americana but with a darker, alternative slant. "Dirt" is the track currently flooring me, but "Hunter" and "Junie" also beautiful. I get Mazzy Star vibes from them.

Now six weeks and counting at number one, with Be Her in the top ten for good measure.

The album is heading for UK top five, with Choosin Texas a couple of spots outside the midweek top ten. I was surprised to see it on the Radio 1 playlist - obviously she is young, but a retro country number would have been very much Radio 2 fare.
 
I really succumbed to that song lately. I tried to resist but it’s so good.

Radio 2 playlisted it a few months ago and have long since moved on to the new single. I assume that Radio 1 have been embarrassed into adding it by its success.
 
Is this where we talk about Fruitbats? And generally the genius of Eric D Johnson? Because I love that man.

 
he’s:done so much lovely stuff - the album Tripper is a really good place to start. Once in a blue moon he plays in the UK - and it’s all there, he sings beautifully live.
 
I listened to the Miranda Lambert single out today after enjoying her duet on the latest Kacey Musgraves album. She’s going down the disco country route. I think I’d be open to an album.

This really suits the sweet side of Miranda's voice. I'm not sure it will do much for her commercial fortunes but I'd be happy with an album of this kind of sound. Something like Kacey's Rhinestoned would fit right in too.
 
Also this is from 2023 but Spotify was kind enough to recommend it to me. I don't think it's completely reflective of this eclectic indie pop band but I love this track. The chorus is HUGE.

It went viral after it recently featured on Amazon (straight) horny hockey show Off Campus.

The Beaches are great.

The Ryan album was a little SUBDUED but I will definitely be giving it another go.
 
It washed over me a bit on first listen, but I gave it another go as I love Secret Language so much and it just clicked.
 
The Ryan Beatty album is one of my favourites this year. The last week I've been alternating playing that with Madonna. The breakneck switch up from the bittersweet strum of Too Many Ways to the jazzy late night call of Delancey sticks out, but I also love Phantom and White Lightning too.

I was not that familiar with Role Model until he appeared on SNL a year or so ago. Seemed like a bit of a flash in the pan musician/actor/model/influencer that are ten a penny these days. Anyway his new song "High Hopes 3000" is one of my favourite songs of the year - a chaotic pastiche of glam rock and classic Americana, like Elton John and T Rex had a baby. It's so much fun.

The album on first listen is very country and yacht rock influenced - his voice doesn't measure up to the acts he follows but it's a nice voice in its own right. Worth a peek.
