Do you go to bed early, or are you a night owl?

I have noticed I am starting to go to bed quite early having always been a bit of a night owl. Yes, I know I am OLD before anyone else says it. :oi:

I am finding I am sleeping by 11ish these days if I am not doing anything. I am usually awake by 6 at the latest though.

Oh god. My sleeping is a nightmare. Ideally right now I'd lapse into dreamworld at around 3 or 4am depending on the schedule. 11pm would be best if operating more conventionally, which will be soon again. I'm going to try and bring my crazy o'clock gym sessions to a close by going at 11:30pm this evening instead of between 1:15 and 2:30am. Wish me luck.

I work shifts on a four week rotation so it’ll depend on which I’m on (the latest I finish is 8pm) but left to my own devices I’d be a night owl.

I am increasingly becoming more obsessed about getting my 8 hours in where possible.

I used to be such a night owl but nowadays I'm usually dying to get into my bed at around 22:30 at the latest. I might be awake til midnight or so though. I know it's terrible to have a telly in the bedroom but I find it really helps my sleep. I love falling asleep to old sitcoms.

in general I go to sleep around midnight and wake up around 9. but at this time of summer it's more like 12:30 and 8.

I’ve always been intrigued by what’s going on there when you’ll post a running commentary of a Channel 5 “drama” between the hours of 2 and 4am :D

I’ll go to bed around 10:30 and look at stuff on YouTube (usually theme parks, the insane logistics of supermarkets or kids tv nostalgia) until it sends me to sleep which is usually about 2 minutes into anything.

Midnight on a school night, 1 or 2am on a weekend.

Although that midnight tends to sometimes later and rarely earlier. I do try to keep it strict.

This but even worse. No gym though.:eyes: It's really annoying in the summer cause by the time I'm in bed it's full blown sunshine. Always trying to do better though.

How many hours sleep are you guys averaging if you don’t sleep until that time? :o

Oh I've no idea. I like to think I can get a good 8, but I'm bad at napping in the early evenings. I'm sure it balances out eventually.

I'm dreadful at maintaining a good sleep pattern, and as a result my energy levels. Usually any time between 11.30pm and 2am.

Anyway, for the Reetbot my answer is that usually sometime between 10-11 on a school night. Mainly dictated by Ms Ron though, left to my own devices, I am a night owl. If I was single I'd go bed at 2-3 and wake up later. I find my creativity peaks late in the day.

We usually watch some shit for 30-60 minutes in bed on the laptop in the week, more because we like being horizontal and having a cuddle rather than just hitting the pillow and lights out.

Weekends are activity-dependent really.

Oh darling it's not like I'm on a traditional 9 to 5 work schedule and need to be up early but after big ron's post I shouldn't say any more.😶

This came in to my head when I was starting to get DROWSY yesterday evening. Have the government taken over my ageing brain? Honey, just call me CARLA12 and be done with it.

I survive on 7 hours, and have done since the kids were, er…kids. I think 7 hours is pretty healthy though?

In summer especially I'll wake up after about 7 hours if I go bed a reasonable time. I like waking up early in summer. In winter I need an alarm to wake up if its dark.

But yeah having sprogs kind of opts you into a routine. 2 years and my work is done.

Around 10pm, exhausted. Often wake up by about 1am for a few hours, otherwise around 4am and then maybe another nap or two but generally up and about between 6 and - latest about 7am. My sleep is awful. I often have very expansive and HD dreams that can be a bit of a lot. I am wondering if this will all get better once I am not working.

Yes they usually say between 7 and 9 hours. My sleeping pattern is all over the place but I usually need 9 hours. And I'm more of a night owl than an early bird, particularly in winter. In the summer it's nice waking up early to light and sunshine.

I go upstairs to bed at quarter to seven aka 1845hrs, I then play Candy Crush and watch telly and usually go to sleep between ten thirty and eleven. I then bolt awake for no reason at around four am and spend the next 2.5 hours (if it's a weekday) trying to go back to sleep. If it's a weekend though I just sleep as long as I can with a minimum of half past nine get up to catch up on the sleep I miss during the week.

In general after 11:45pm and before around 1:30am. ☺️ The latest I've gone to bed is 5-something (no stimulants or anything, about twice) and still go to bed at 2 sometimes.

It has varied a lot since I went to highschool (so about half of my life so far) but at least I could regularly wake up early (early now is about 8am 😅 regardless of the season). I used to struggle falling asleep as a child (then again it was 8:30pm bedtime). It's hard now if I try to sleep for the night before 11pm, unless I'm physically unwell.
