Madonna - Confessions II OUT NOW (2 Viewers)

Omg and at the concerts we could go up and hand over our cassettes to guys we like with our numbers scribbled on them (don't forget the international dial codes). They could flog cheap ones at the merch stalls and encourage this embarrassing behaviour :disco:

I would love to see her get another USA #1 of course but, even if she doesn’t, this will still be an excellent rollout

Ooh this could be good. Unfortunately I'm off to the gym (it's what Madonna would want).

But definitely ultra curious to hear Graham compare her to previous interviews as I really do feel she's quite different and more secure in herself again compared to her eyepatch outings.

Just got back from a brisk walk and about to watch this. :)

Now that this era is over, this was an amazing album. The tortured Grindr promo makes a lot more sense after listening to the full album! At least half the tracks are 10/10s and there's nothing lower than a 3.

Her fans remain difficult and I hope she addresses it.

Wait I've just learned Stuart Price is a HETEROSEXUAL?!
married to Madonna's former assistant (the one she writes the poem for in I'm Going to Tell You a Secret) no less

When do the acapellas come out? :basil:
Drag Race GIF by Stan.

I feel I want L.E.S GIRL to be the last track on the standard version of the album, not just the extra tracks one - it deserves to be there - it's just a lovely little coda.

I may be misreading this but it appears if you buy the Instrumental version in album form on iTunes you get the enitre 16 track normal album + the instrumentals for the sum total of £3.99 - can that be right or is that a fuck up?

No it is right
Same with the Grindr version
Mama really wants that number 1
Lambily would know what I mean.
Oops I didn’t know I couldn’t talk about —

Well I assume the Live prices will be on a whole other scale because this whole campaign has been lengthy and looked expensive and you don't recoup selling digital albums for £3.99

Do digital platforms charge Marge more than £4 per sale then? Because it's not losing money doing it digital surely. And any retailers slashing the price is on them as they've bought them.

I would assume digital platforms charge a percentage of the price as commission and it’s up to the artist at the price to sell it, hence many drop in the first charting week to get extra sales?

Yes the long term aim (I imagine) is the tour / live shows for big financial profit but the label needs the positive PR of the good reviews (tick) and the number 1 album to help also bolster ticket sales
Life is a circle

But it won't be contributing to paying all this off either - although I guess she is on some music + touring deal at this point - that seems to be the way the industry has gone - hence the wild wild ticket pricing these days.

Would I be wrong in thinking that this expensive campaign is also an attempt to set her up for the long term with Warners, including further new albums and of course, the mythical reissues.
