I heard a clip of this and thought it sounded awful lyrically so I think I'll just wait for the album at this point

Oh, just give me the album now so I can get all thirty minutes (woo!) of it in my veins and then, 2 days after Ive coughed up, she can announce the deluxe with 3 more songs and it's a double for no reason and Blood Records will do one with some of her PUBES embedded in the vinyl and then we can all just get on with our lives.
 
It certainly feels that way. I'm sure the album will have a decent first week, but it'll probably drop like a stone without anything even vaguely approaching a "hit" coming from it.

I dunno. It's an awfully quick move on from the Wuthering Heights album but that was never supposed to be a 'proper' album i.e. no tour, no remixes, no formats etc. This appears to be a 'proper' album but it has far more in common with the mixtapes - made quickly, unexpectedly. I feel like it should have been 'Pop 3' or something.

Camera leaked a couple of days. It's more of the same. A barely-there, 2 and a half minute song in the same vein as the others. I think the album as a whole will be cute, but individually it's all quite throwaway.
 
These are all mostly shit. SS26 is kinda okay but the others? NO THANKS.
 
They're all drivel really. Like sketches of some sort of vision that never really amount to anything. She can't truly believe this material is great surely?

I don't really like comparing artists, but this album is shaping up to almost be the opposite of Madge's Confessions II. That album is full of gorgeous melodies, hooks and production. You can hear the effort that was poured into it. Charli's album(so far) sounds like it was cobbled together in literally minutes. It's just so...empty, in every respect.

I truly believe she should have taken a well deserved break after the Wuthering Heights soundtrack(which I loved).

I like the relative minimalism. Everyone is "maxxing" everything and, as it turns out, keep it simple and brief is surprisingly radical in 2026. SS26 is great, but I actually haven't heard the last couple because I don't like hearing too much from an album in advance.
 
To my ears, pop music is very maximal and in your face at the moment which is perfectly normal for the genre but I like the pull back from that. Our ears need a rest sometimes.
 
whether pop is maximal or not (I think it's still leaning more "less" than more in general) for the love of GOD let's all stop using MAXXING! it's beyond cringe and any layer of irony has long since been shed.
 
as for this album, I just don't have the energy. I can't even bring myself to play Camera. ironically this anti-maximalist pop is actually asking more of the listener.
 
The only non-ironic was to use it is AVAMAXXING. But nobody's doing that.
 
So I've listened to the album a few times and I'm still not sure what I think really. The only thing I'll admit is that the singles sounded vaguely enjoyable, so I guess familiarity did eventually help. But on the whole it still all feels very inconsequential. Maybe she absolutely had to get it out of her system, but I can't see any of it lingering long in the memory really.

Or perhaps I'll be raving about it in a few days(unlikely).

Also, I genuinely thought the silly bint would get more backlash over Vincent Cassel. People don’t seem to be that aware that he’s a piece of shit.
