Madonna - Confessions II OUT NOW (1 Viewer)

@K.C. I love you and everything but I haven’t read a single post by you in this thread that I understand :D

Do we have any sales info yet?
Yes love - in the charts thread
But essentially she’s number 1 in UK midweeks with about 37K
On course for 100k debut in USA (could still end up at no2 there tho)

But it won't be contributing to paying all this off either - although I guess she is on some music + touring deal at this point - that seems to be the way the industry has gone - hence the wild wild ticket pricing these days.
isn't her Live Nation deal done now? that's widely credited as a reason her music went off the boil in the '10s. essentially structuring her career around tours and not the creative process of making albums.

I think with Warner now she's on a regular record deal without a touring element.

Yeah the 360 deal finished a while ago
She still is a LiveNation touring artist but has a conventional deal with Warner
And all her Interscope material has now been relicensed back to Warner.

My post PT fatigue meant my body was ready to ab-sorb the downbeat highlights on the drive home in motorway traffic just there.

FIFA closing ceremony will likely be where I have my make of break moment with Read My Lips. It's truly the only one I'm not gushing over and admiring new things about with each listen.

Read My Lips has been the biggest revelation for me in context. It's fantastic, but it may have also had to do with @Agneeta pointing out its similarity to the frankly superior "Right In the Night" :disco:

I do think that it is plausible that its a loss leader for profile/ catalogue sales

Apparently there’s another digital version coming out tomorrow with new remixes of Love Sensation and Danceteria, in addition to two Purple Disco Machine/Mousse T remixes of Like A Prayer. The existing remixes by Honey Dijon and Stuart will make up the rest.

Almost tempted to post the NOT another one GIF at this point :eyes:

I'm going to wait - I bought 4 digital tracks - cost me ÂŁ1.80 - i'd like the full album but in the past 6 months i've gotten back into CDs and smashing those through my speakers, so I can just burn a digital copy from that - I reckon if I wait 2-3 weeks I'll be able to get a CD version for ÂŁ5

Sorry why are we discussing the economics of this album as if ANYBODY actually makes money from music sales these days?!

record labels still make a lot of money from music sales. certainly for artists like M.

Yes, they're surely not printing all these variants for their HEALTH.

15 vinyl versions? More variants than Corona.

Although what's she got to lose? She'll sell all of them. She's building a MADONNA INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX.

Of all the various digital editions, why have they still not released the obvious one: the unmixed version?

(Or have they and I've somehow missed it?)

We haven’t had that yet

I’m shocked they didn’t do the standard 12 track edition on digital just to get another easy one on

"Love Sensation", "Betrayal", "The Test", and "L.E.S. Girl" are omitted on 12-track physical editions

I also expected a “clean” version to appear

Gemini can sometimes spill info from behind paywalls.

That New York Magazine piece is not too dissimilar to the Guardian article I posted above.

She's performing read my lips on the FIFA halftime world cup show, isn't she. Just like she did future on Eurovision. Why is she like that
it sounds global and the straights definitely don't care about the certified faggotry of Danceteria!

Yeah, Danceteria wouldn't work at all. One Step Away might though, as lyrically it's much more of a fit than Read My Lips.

Read My Lips has lots of Latin instrumentation that could be great in a live setting (and drown out her vocals, I said what I said)

Based on my book of stats aka YouTube reaction videos and social clips from podcasts, it absolutely already has.
