I must say, this being highly out of character, why did the agent not check on her? It was not the middle of the night. A 78 year old woman living alone. She could have had a stroke for all they knew.

Very very odd. And as much as she was a figure of hate here, it’s so horrible to think she had such a terrible end to her life.

The police have said they're not looking for anyone else in relation to her murder and that it's not political.

They have an open mind with regards to motive. It seems like they've got who they believe is the killer. Come on, charge him and name names.
 
If not political, is it just an OBSESSED FAN? A mentally unwell person who thought she had to be killed?

Or perhaps a SECRET SON with a VENDETTA? (She was in the public eye at 50, but those boxy suits would have hidden her miracle baby bump)
 
It's a four and a half hour drive from Rotherham to Haytor. Which makes it even more curious to me - and explains the midday killing. If this is the killer I assume he made a day of it.

Counter terrorism police are now leading the investigation into the death of Ann Widdecombe, after "new information and evidence has come to light", Counter Terrorism Policing South East has said.

"The police are pursuing multiple lines of enquiry to establish the motivation for this attack. I will be updating the House further this afternoon," Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood said.

The announcement comes after the suspect of Widdecombe's murder investigation was seen in CCTV footage appearing to get into a car in Yorkshire, hours before the former Conservative minister is thought to have been attacked in her home in Devon.

The man, dressed in a white shirt and shorts, can be seen getting into a red vehicle outside a house in Rotherham with a long object appearing to protrude from his shorts pocket, in footage time-stamped at 07:51 on Wednesday, first reported by the Sun.
 
Judging by the description of him, I doubt you're going to get the sexy fratboy pics Luigi spoiled us with.
