Blade Runner 2099 (Amazon Prime; Michelle Yeoh/Hunter Schafer)

NOBODY is excited for this so I thought I'd post about it. Everybody's saying Amazon will ruin another beloved franchise. Any Blade Runner fans here? Is the trailer as bad as the comments say? I know very little, but always open for a new obsession.

Don’t bother with 2049. Absolute tedium. I did like Blade Runner though, despite it taking me until 2017 to actually watch it.

This could be better since Villeneuve isn’t involved.

I mean, the first time I saw the original Bladerunner was in mono on a tiny black and white TV in my bedroom and it was still the most incredible experience - and I wouldn't expect any sequel to top that or really match it - but I do think 2049 is decent and has a lot going for it - I'm thinking the farm scene at the beginning or the extraordinary Las Vegas nightclub set up, I've certainly watched it a few times and I dare say i'll watch it again, but it's its own thing for sure.

Oh I found it quite ENGAGING and vaguely tense throughout and felt so sorry for poor Ryan at the end.
