as obscure as you like but they should be true!

I didn't know she wrote a children's book called MR. PEABODY'S APPLES.

She believes pissing down her leg is healthy.

I'm not making this up.

Madonna turned down The Matrix? And talked herself out of playing Catwoman in Batman because she made too many demands? Apologies: I've just google-AI'd roles Madonna missed out on.

She did turn down The Matrix - she confirmed it herself on Jimmy Fallon a few years ago.

I don't know the full details behind Catwoman in Batman Returns. I think she may have auditioned for it.

Drowned World Tour 2001 was meant to kick off in Cologne but due to production delays the shows were cancelled and the tour started in Barcelona.

Some fans were not happy.

"Madonna has one less fan now," said one posting on the star's German fan club website.

"I'm fed up with this and am going to throw my Madonna CDs in the garbage," said another.

the pub featured in I'm Going to Tell You a Secret didn't it? I'm due a rewatch

I used to live 3 roads away from her and passed her house all the time.

There was a pub nearby that we always thought was the pub above hoping to catch a glimpse of her pulling pints :D

Was years later when I realised we’d been going to the wrong pub :)

She may have dated and was, at the very least friends with Michael Gira of Swans. Had she gravitated towards the no-wave arthouse noise scene rather than the clubs of New York, she could have been the drummer in Sonic Youth. She definitely saw some of their early shows.

She was in the same year in the same high school as the writer of the poem that formed the lyrics for Sheryl Crow’s All I Wanna Do, Wyn Cooper.

Don’t they mention in the film that Madonna or Janet Jackson could have starred in GODDESS? As if :D
"We could have brought anyone into this show: Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul. Nomi Malone is what Las Vegas is all about! She's dazzling, she's exciting, and very, very sexy!'

not relevant but in the absence of a misc thread - an oldie but goodie

that's not true. Music did good, and Ray of Light did amazing. :)

She recorded a rather gorgeous duet with her brother-in-law Joe Henry for a charity album in the 90s.

I remember myself being obsessed with this song, the juxtaposition of their vocals blending into such a beautiful soundscape was another little extra for her cool factor in the 90s. I think I got it on a bootleg tape back in the day.

I love this fact ever since I bought Alanis' Jagged Little Pill.

Yes, Madonna signed Alanis Morissette to her record label, Maverick Records, in 1995. The label released Morissette's massive international debut album, Jagged Little Pill.

Madonna's Role as a Mentor
  • Creative Freedom: Madonna gave Alanis complete artistic control over Jagged Little Pill, refusing to censor the raw lyrics.
  • Industry Guidance: Madonna personally advised Alanis on managing sudden global fame and navigating a male-dominated industry.
  • Public Champion: Madonna frequently used her massive star power to promote Alanis in the media, accelerating her rise to stardom.

Maverick Records History
  • The Rise: Co-founded by Madonna, Maverick became one of the most successful artist-run labels of the 1990s.
  • The Roster: Beyond Alanis Morissette, the label signed massive acts like Deftones, The Prodigy, and Candlebox.
  • The End: Following legal disputes over profits, Warner Music Group fully acquired the label, and Madonna departed in 2004.
